Currently sitting a kiosk (little beer/coffee/pastry stand with outdoor seating) - they're all over Lisbon anywhere remotely suitable. It started raining.
The sheer mayhem and panic. I've never seen the like. Teenage girls screaming, everyone running, grown men hunched over like they're facing hurricane winds, people rooting in their bags for umbrellas like they're looking for an EpiPen.
I messaged my buddy to say wow. He shared a hilarious story: came up out of the metro, and it had started to rain. There were six or seven people crying and screaming, and one woman sitting on the stairs absolutely wailing. He thought even for Lisbon that's a bit much. Turns out she broke her ankle. Every surface here is shiny smooth when dry so ice when wet.
