Chicago has been continuously building at least one 700+ footer since 1/15/2013 when River Point broke ground. Though there was a 4-day gap between the grand opening of 1000M on 6/13/2024 and the groundbreaking ceremony for 400 N LSD on 6/17/2024, work on 1000M actually continued through late 2024 so the two projects overlapped. Even if 400 N LSD is the last 700+ footer for a while, by the time it's completed next year, Chicago will have been building 700+ footers nonstop for over 14 years (or "almost 14 years" if it's 100% done before 1/15/2027 but that's unlikely).

I personally like it that Chicago isn't too dense. It's more pleasant walking around Chicago than NYC IMO. It's still dense enough to give us amazing skyline photos.
