I don't have a problem with the location, but the land deal was political pork if ever there was. I have no idea if $10 Billion for a hospital has any basis in reality - even $2 Billion seems outrageous.

When I heard that number I thought it was out to lunch too so I checked out the new Victoria General replacement in Halifax and the number floated is $7.4B... for a 30 year P3 arrangement. Perhaps that's where the $10B comes from, not just construction but a 30 year operating arrangement.
