not a particular fan of this creator: they go around giving credit to TL's work in providing service but when it comes to certain vehicles it gets super nitpicky and overly biased.

Meanwhile on the Expo Line department, we have hit 7 Mark V trains in service (6111-6122-6123-6124-6125) with another 3 trains undergoing testing. This afternoon I saw 6 of them out in a span of about 70 minutes.

It's also been more than 1 month since the last delivery was spotted at OMC

This is anecdotal, but I was on a Mark V train today and the speaker was SO loud. It was actually hurting my ears it was so loud at every station. The sound quality was still poor, though.

I’m guessing Translink is doing what they can for the announcements to be understandable. Maybe the speakers will be fixed on future trains?

The bassy sound of the speaker gets drowned out by the ambient noise. If the speakers sound leaned more high frequency, the voice announcements would be much clearer. A high pass filter is simple and cheap.

snowstorms in the east could be impacting deliveries, but there are 3 trains undergoing testing so that should not really be an issue.

I hope they can optimize from train delivery to full revenue service down to maybe 2-3 months I know the 3,000km can't be reduced, but if they can streamline the process to get them in service faster I hope 10 trains as improved that schedule.

Yep… low frequencies also distort/modulate higher ones when they are played through the same speaker driver.

As of today 30 Mark I Skytrain Cars have been retired. My guess is they will keep at least 1 6 car train in service with 1 Mark V so we have an extra train if that makes sense. They also need to retire them in even numbers. the next retirement in my opinion will be once we have 10 Mark V's in service then they will retire 12 Mark I cars.

The area around Main Street station will turn into the main access point with a pedestrian only path to BC Place.

Extra service to and from FIFA Fan Festival Vancouver at the PNE.

A dedicated shuttle connecting the event grounds to both the Expo and Millennium lines.

More frequent service and easier access on routes R5, 14, 28, 130, and 222.

More bus service in Vancouver.

Increased frequency on routes R5, 14, 19, and 23, in the busiest parts of downtown Vancouver.

Extra buses ready when crowds spike.

Buses and crews will be available to respond quickly, with teams monitoring service in real time.

More frequent trains before and after matches at BC Place Vancouver, arriving at downtown stations every 2 to 2.5 minutes (similar to rush-hour frequency).

Later SkyTrain service on all three lines (Canada, Expo, and Millennium) with each running one hour later on evenings with late-night matches (June 13, June 26, and July 2).

Empty trains starting at Main Street–Science World Station after matches to help clear crowds faster.

On match days, customers should use Main Street–Science World Station.

To support travel between downtown Vancouver and the North Shore during FIFA World Cup 2026 Vancouver, the SeaBus will run:

Every 10 minutes before and after matches at BC Place Vancouver.

SeaBus service will also extend by one hour on evenings with late-night matches at BC Place Vancouver (June 13, June 26, and July 2) to align with SkyTrain hours.

Special round-trip service on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 21.

One westbound train will depart Mission about three hours before kickoff.

Off topic, but the fan festival shuttle reminds me of standing in the pouring rain at Renfrew Station waiting for the 2010 Olympic shuttle bus to Pacific Coliseum to watch short track speed skating.

But I think there isn't enough of a buffer for their security rings to have the entrance/security inspection right next to the stadium. And isn't the Last Mile going to be some marketing exercise for sponsors or the city?

The main purpose of an outer perimeter is security. Firstly, it ensures that no unauthorised persons are admitted to the surrounding environment of the stadium building. Secondly, it can create a safe distance between the stadium building as a crowded space and any potential threat or attack.

If an outer perimeter is in place, it is likely that the first check of tickets, passes and accreditation will take place here along with search and screening procedures. For this purpose, there must be a sufficient number of controlled separate entry points for vehicles and pedestrians.

The outer perimeter should be located a sufficient distance away from the inner perimeter to allow for the safe and comfortable flow of large numbers of spectators during normal and emergency circumstances. The exact spacing between the two perimeters is usually determined in conjunction with the relevant local authorities and will need to consider the overall site space available, as well as the general and specific security risks to the venue. Crowd-flow modelling by specialist engineers should be undertaken to test designs and to ensure that the overall capacity of its entry and exit points as well as the total area available for queueing and circulation is sufficient for the required operations.

This might explain why the parking lot on Pacific is fenced off.

In 2022, CSA’s “BC Place Neighbourhood Campus” envisioned using three of Concord’s parking lots: lot 038 Rogers Arena East, lot 039 Rogers Arena South and lot 098 Concord Pacific Place North.

Lot 039 would be used from March 1-July 31, 2026, with an entry plaza, airport-style security machines and hospitality pavilions during the tournament period. Lot 038 would host a spectator plaza and lot 098 match-day parking for FIFA pass holders.

Good catch. FWIW the fenced off lot seems to be "Plaza of Nations (Impark Lot #1188)" and/or "Plaza of Nations Entrance (Impark Lot #563)"

It would be nice to see that location map overlayed against our real stadium area layout, and it would answer a lot of questions.

TransLink clarifies plans for FIFA World Cup in Vancouver after questions over station closures

Officials say Stadium–Chinatown and Yaletown–Roundhouse SkyTrain Stations will remain open on match days, although pedestrian access to BC Place from the stations will be closed off.

Spokesperson Jawn Jang says trains will continue to stop at both stations.

However, due to a secure event perimeter set up around BC Place, certain station exits will be restricted, and riders will be redirected to access the stadium through designated routes.

“During FIFA match days here in Vancouver, Stadium–Chinatown station, just the gate on the Expo Boulevard side — which is the side closest to Rogers Arena — that gate will be closed,” Jang said.
