I've been to Goderich. Nice town, especially the town center and the beach area, I recall the salt plant. I walked all along the breakwater there.

The whole Lake Huron shoreline is interesting. I drove the full length. In places it almost seems tropical (south of Goderich) with the colour of the water and the white sand beaches.

I would say the two must stop towns along the Huron shoreline are Goderich and Kincardine.

I definitely would not say Miami, but southern BC can loosely be seen as the "California" of Canada, since it is the northern extension of the same general biome and does share many of the same plant species. Northern California obviously being the better comparison.

I was out in New Westminster today. It's been a while.

I like New West. It's a very rail-heavy city. The freight trains and Skytrain dominate downtown. There's always a train passing by somewhere.

New Westminster is very photogenic and has a lot of layering to it, from the wharf and river front, the railyards, Skytrain, the bridges, the old stock of buildings and the new skyscrapers, definitely what i would consider to be the most urban suburb in Canada.

This weekend is sunny and up to 19 tomorrow in my area of Japan, but earlier this month (about 10 days ago) we had our second kiss of winter. The coldest day had a low of about -6 and a high of about +3. Overnight it snowed about 2cm giving everything a light dusting of white. The second measurable snowfall of the year here. We get lots of passing flurries that don't accumulate from December to February as well.

A high of 18 in full sunshine today in Lisbon. The low last night was 9. We were not expecting to be in Lisbon until a few weeks from now but our ship broke down off of Athens and they booted us off the ship. Our last minute Vrbo has an enormous private-use courtyard but it's not at all private in terms of being in view of others. A couple of pics... Athens from the acropolis and the courtyard in Lisbon.

Woke up to -8C for my morning coffee walk. Brutal.

Lisbon today, at least. Though I used Aeroplan points, so tripled the trip flying 3.5 to and from Montreal first lol. Always amazes me that this makes financial sense for airlines and passengers in our current system.

Edit: Another storm this evening, just upgraded to up to 30cm. I'm basically on the last heli out of 'Nam.

Currently -2C in Moncton and mostly cloudy at 2 PM, Wildcats game at 4 PM - currently ranked #2 in the CHL. The team is prepping for a second straight Memorial Cup appearance.

Nor'easter coming for Monday night into Tuesday. About 15-25 cm expected here with winds of 60-80 km/hr. This is another coastal storm affecting mostly NS and eastern NL.

Blizzard warnings have been issued for the US east coast, Up to 60 cm expected in Boston.

I didn't know or didn't remember that, Moncton. But my points are only good for Air Canada, unfortunately. Either way, that's still an extra four hours at least going to HFX and back. Better than MTL tho!

Made it to the airport at least. Storm gas started but the wind doesn't pick up until near midnight so I should get out fine.
