Thank you so many lots are being used up downtown that were sitting empty for years. Good to see now we need some high-rise apartments. Is it going to happen?

All the photos I took today with the drone are also out of focus. Fully zoomed out they aren't horrible, but it would make the onboard digital zoom useless. I'll see if this time they can send me a new drone before I send the current one back (they said no, but I can exchange the entire bundle at Visions which I should have just done the first time and not waste that week and a half of nice weather back at the start of January).

On second thought maybe they aren't that blurred, at the second zoom level on flickr they still look pretty good. I should at least wait for a sunny day to see if better light helps. I'm probably zooming in too far and the more you look for the more you find.

These photos look pretty good on my big monitor. Most digital zooms are a scam. Really no better than cropping after the fact.

On the CN rail bridge, that is riprap they are installing. One of my fav words.

Farmer's market has an RFP out for a year-round facility.
UofR has an RFP out for the "Grant Road Development Lands" which includes the old fire station and community gardens.

It'd be a shame if they moved out of downtown in the summer months. What was wrong with their Scarth St setup while the city effed around with Fiasco's Plaza for the 11th Ave. construction?

I think they just want some stability as opposed to being at the whim of the City or anyone else. Undoubtably it impacts the business model when people don't know where they are month to month, year to year. Hopefully they find something downtown that keeps them in the same spot and not at the discretion of another group.

Being on Scarth St. around the corner from the plaza wasn't really hard to find but I can understand wanting stability. Moving out of central downtown would be a horrible move though.

Oh yes, I agree. But their RFP is also finding a permanent indoor home - so presumably something/somewhere they would operate year-round.
Ideally, they would build something new - or be folded into a new development - at the "Skuare" site - right on the plaza. Perfect location.
Agreed - right downtown is best.

I can't see how it is practical for the Farmer's market to find a permanent indoor home that they only use twice per week for a few hours without being at the whim of the landlord? Who is going tie up their facility for paltry rent?

Or are they talking about a permanent/every day market like Pike Place Market or Calgary's Farmers Markets?

Coopertown expansion beyond current phase. It looks like they are planning to set aside space for an interchange at Fairway Road, though it will likely just be traffic lights. All the 9th Ave N intersections from Pasqua westward have space allocated for interchanges. I hope they twin 9th Ave N and put lights at Fairway sooner than later. I've seen many close calls there (people driving in the oncoming traffic lane to pass someone turning right) and it can be difficult to turn left onto 9th N when a lot of traffic is coming off the bypass.

The Farmer's Market RFP is for a consultant to examine the viability of the idea, not for actual space.
