If phase two is rolled out in similar fashion, with the public getting slow but steady insight into the designs, it will be really exciting. This is by far my favourite ongoing project to keep tabs on right now.

I also really, really hope they get ballsy with the building heights in phase two. The entire project will look great no matter what im sure, but I think having a bigger discrepancy in height among the buildings will really make this a marvel to look at. A small tower would be a subtle bonus for the skyline. Even if they got to 10 or 12 storeys id be happy with that.
Theres no way theyll let buildimgs get up to 10-12 stories. Itd cut the museum out of the skyline looking E from downtown.

I concur 100% .
A Mid-rise or hi-rise would be appropriate farther to downtown

What are the odds of the city restoring "Waterfront Drive" for the 450-metre section of street in front of Railside? Ideally *before* people start moving in. The Asper family and their museum have brought too much negative attention already. And it's just plain confusing.

I remember people calling it "Blank Cheque Izzy Asper Way" and "We cut funding to the Children's Museum for THIS Way??". Time to fix the mistake and move on.

Also, what happened to The Forks' plan to close off the street to cars and turn it into a linear park? Is that still on?

Niice.

Are the colours in these renders, green blue pink red, actual hard colours. Or just lighting and render looks?

No… the aspers have done tons for this city. Izzy’s legacy deserves to be preserved in front of the museum he envisioned. I can smell your antisemitism.

The elevation notes for Site 12 (50 Israel Asper Way) indicate blue and pink accents:

The elevation notes for Site 08 (68 Israel Asper Way) indicate pink stucco:

Hey Drew,

I am hoping to ask a structural engineer this...how exactly do you think those extra long balconies work?

Are those structural exoskeleton scaffolding poles enough to support all of that hanging weight?

I know you have an appreciation for cantilevers.

^ I think they left the sky hook out of the render... it will all make sense once they connect the outer edge of those decks to cables dangling out of the sky.

Kinda looks like it's just an illusion: balcony railings extending beyond the actual balconies.

I thought that too, but the renderings have people standing on them. They look pretty thin.

Balconies are a waste of effort and time IMO. Difficult to design and detail - and while people seem to like the idea of them, they are vastly underused given all the costs involved.

Aren't these just AI slop? The real renderings show different shading at what looks like the realistic limit of the balcony. It would be exactly like gen ai to hallucinate those as real when tasked with adding Bladerunneryness to the renders.

Edit: looking closer the "balconies" don't even line up with floors. Definitely ai nonsense. Shame on the developers for putting that out
