Maybe a bit further if its 4 levels of parking? I think the east side of the site will be slightly raised compared to the other side of the dig.

on another note, I'm always curious as to whether turn of the century artifacts are ever found in construction sites like this, especially in such a central location of the city where a lot of activity would have taken place in the early years of the city

Are there any other examples of this kind of longer stay hotel downtown? Is it generally a higher end type clientele?

Sutton Place the adjacent La Grande Residence building (as opposed to the hotel tower.)

Any all-suite hotel is usually longer stay, i.e. likely geared to the film industry.

Other all suite hotels downtown:
- Delta Suites (on Hastings near Seymour)
- Rosedale on Robson

It didn't fade, it was repainted to the grey metallic colour it is today.

Did they also replace the windows?
Looking at the Google maps streetviews, the change must have been between 2017 and 2018, but the glass looks grayer too.

Go to the August 2018 Hornby view and you can see it half finished with all the windows covered into the alley. I didn't notice any changes to the windows.

They used a special epoxy coating for the "painting"

Surprising, if true. Loblaws cannibalising their City Market customers, although I think they're both franchise rather than corporate. If it's Shoppers, I wonder if Granville and Dunsmuir will survive?

I always assumed they were smaller but some of the larger Shoppers locations are in that square footage range. The Reddit poster seems to work in the industry so it might be correct.

Personally I like the reddish one, for the same reasons as mentioned earlier by UrbanKnight. It's nice to see some color. we have an awful lot of gray, or very light green/blue.
