its basically task driven, the more tasks you get done, the higher your hourly wages are. So if you are drywalling a certain number of areas and you hit your targets you can make $30 an hour instead of $25. (these are just made up numbers, but you get the idea). At the same time if you are a younger worker who is inexperienced you still get paid but you may not be in reach of those higher numbers but you will still get work. Everything is well documented on who is assigned what task, so there is a lot of accountability that happens without that much needing to be said. Based on this mechanism to motivate the staff I can see why they are a well oiled machine. I expect much of these same contractors will get offers to go to the infinity tower.
That's a very impressive system, and the results speak for themselves. No doubt it's a win-win situation for everyone, and I'm sure the same team will move to Infinity when they're finished in Riverview.

The Town of Riverview will hold a public consultation session Dec. 3 to discuss the future of development in the Bridgedale Boulevard, as oulined on this interactive map. TOWN OF RIVERVIEW

Quote:
The session will specifically look at the “Secondary Plan” area, directly east of Gunningsville Boulevard, where the roundabout connects to Bridgedale Boulevard. This is mainly an undeveloped, wooded section of town, near the area where the new recreation centre is now under construction next to the Mill Creek Nature Park. The nearby Runnymeade Road area has seen a building boom in recent years with new houses and apartments.

I’m not sure what Coverdale 18s mean but I’ve seen a couple of pop ups for riverview place on CCD already and they were labeled as the riverview place apartments. So I’m not to sure what this one is for.

There was some land clearing on Cleveland between Gunnningsville and Pinewood. Not sure if it was just wood harvesting or not.

I think it's referring to the Kent Homes project. The first phase is 56 homes, with a total of 196 units at full build out. They originally thought that initial construction would start in 2025 - the last news I heard was that they were working on rezoning. I'm not exactly sure where things stand now with this project.

It's on land off Coverdale Road, western side of town.

Riverview considers traffic calming on Pinewood Road
Pinewood Road has seen increases in traffic over the years, with a roundabout added in 2022

It appears they are talking about the segment of road between Gunningsville Blvd and the new roundabout, but, this could be extended in the future.

Yah, a lot of traffic from east Riverview from Runneymeade and Bridgedale area heading west don't want to use Coverdale/Hillsborough. It's sometimes hard making a left onto Hillsborough off Runneymeade or any of those side streets. Maybe a traffic light at Runneymeade and Hillsborough sometime in the future.
The Moncton Golf Club is a major barrier for any new east/west routes but since it's a subdivision alongside the course, you probably wouldn't want any new routes in that area.

I always thought when they built that extension they were basically negating the existence of Gunningsville north of there. They almost should have made it a little bit harder to get out of that subdivision on to Gunningsville. Another thing is it’s the only connection east to west other than Coverdale. Traffic in the town could easily be improved if there were more east to west congratulations.

Examples would be a connection from Bridgedale to Berkley, reconnecting both ends of Bradford, Chambers to Bridgedale or even Bayley road, Findlay, high school and Buckingham.

I had almost forgotten about this one - it's been several years.

It looks like a few housekeeping issues. If they are going back before PAC, this shows ongoing interest in proceeding.

Is this going to go back to town council? I don’t see any date for a public meeting. I was against this proposal previously and I still am. The town has done nothing to improve the traffic situation on Buckingham in the last 2 years and this will make it worse. Cars are constantly speeding and the traffic volume will be increased. Eventually, if nothing is done, it will be dangerous for students walking to and from school and children walking to the park. There is an also a nice green belt surrounding the high school currently and that will be removed.

One problem that this location has is lack of connectivity. I supported the Icon development on Whitepine for example as the road is already designed for higher vehicle counts and its easy to get to from several different directions in the town.
This new development can only be accessed via Buckingham, tho Sussex does create a midway street through the surrounding street network, it lacks any pedestrian amenities. Bradford road also connects the area to the read of Riverview but in this case ONLY for pedestrians. The traffic dispersal then is essentially limited to north and south on Buckingham.

This is not only a problem for the location of this development, it is generally a larger problem in the town. Could more connectivity be added to Findlay Blvd? Could Bradford be reconnected to better connect the town and better disperse traffic across a broader number of streets?

I think before any development is allowed here this questions (and others such as the general lack of pedestrian amenities in the area) need to be answered.

Riverview poised for more growth in 2026: Mayor
Opening of Riverview Recreation Complex in 2026 expected to boost growth in New Brunswick's largest town

Quote:
As part of the Census Metropolitan Area of Greater Moncton, Riverview is New Brunswick’s fifth-largest municipality with a population 22,000, larger than four of New Brunswick’s cities.

“One of the things that residents are consistent about is that they like the idea of Riverview being a town, not a city,” LeBlanc said in a year-end interview. “They like the small-town feel, which comes from the people, the events and the opportunities to connect with each other. We can continue to grow at a rate that is comfortable for the town but not necessarily to keep pace with Moncton and Dieppe. We’re not trying to do what they are doing but do what’s right for Riverview, and continue to protect that small-town feel.”
No major earth shattering announcements in this article, but, they did include a couple of drone shots of the new Riverview Recreational Centre under construction:

Quote:
The new $60-million Riverview Recreation Complex is now under construction off Bridgedale Boulevard, next to the Mill Creek Nature Park and near a growing residential subdivision around Runnymeade Road. It is expected to be completed by fall of 2026. It will have a 10-lane swimming pool, indoor walking track and skatepark.
This section of the town is poised for major change over the course of the next decade.

1) - the new recreational complex will open, and I foresee it eventually being expanded to include another arena complex with two ice sheets.
2) - Moemar continues to expand their residential district in the Bridgedale/Runnymede neighbourhood, with several new apartment buildings planned.
3) - A secondary development district is planned for the Bridgedale/Gunningsville roundabout area, which will include new commercial/retail,
4) - the extension of Bridgedale Blvd to the east of Runnymede to connect with Hillsborough Road will open up considerable new land for additional development.

In 2025, 193 permits have been issued in the Town of Riverview with a total construction value exceeding $99 million.

Residential and multi-residential permits continued to lead development activity, with 84 permits valued at over $92 million, resulting in the assent of 441 net new housing units. Commercial development followed as the second-largest driver of development activity, with four permits totaling over $5 million.
Just shy of $100M in building permits in Riverview is really shocking. I can't recall it ever being so high.

What with permits issued in Moncton and Dieppe, could we be seeing a tri-community total of $800M or so???

I think it's possible. We'll just have to wait and see.

The foundation for the first of these two apartment buildings on Cleveland Avenue is now in the ground. The whole site is now a very active work area.

I was by this construction site yesterday for the first time and was impressed by how big and how active it is. Lots of heavy equipment on the site, workers vehicles etc. I can't remember who the developer is, can someone remind me?
