I wonder what impact Porter is having on Americans decisions these days. They may well do more code sharing on Porter over time.
Maybe if Porter moves their LGA slots over to YTZ once pre-clearance is open, PD would fly to JFK from YYZ?

Looks like the Rouge 7M8 will first operate from the YVR base from March 5. The schedule for the day is:
AC2074 YVR-YEG
AC2077 YEG-YVR
AC2076 YVR-YEG
AC2079 YEG-YVR
AC1924 YVR-YLW
AC1925 YLW-YVR

Not sure if there is anything earlier from YYZ/YUL?

Note: Rouge flight number now extended into 2200s.

I had noticed that YOW-CUN/PUJ switch from 14xx flight numbers to 21xx on March 1, but they still show as operated by mainline (maybe because they're ex-Lynx fins). The NAS flight moves from a 12xx to 14xx and the MCO/FLL flights remain as is in 12xx. The PAL flights move to the 7500+ series on March 1 too from the current 2000 series.

I noticed that YYZ-YZF/YMM this summer are Rouge 319s vs 223s this past summer.

I wonder if any Rouge 319s will make it past the end of the summer 2026 schedule?

Yes the route number being re-organized I guess for potential expanded Rouge operation. Maybe they were planning to use 1400s for Rouge but found out there is not enough numbers?

Now I question about the flight number reassignment for the W26 season.. why bother to assign a new mainline flight number for routes like YVR-PVR, YVR-SJD, if they going to be Rouged and assign with a Rouge number anyways?

And maybe they never bothered to move the MEX flight to the 1300s and 1400s (where all Mexican flights now belong) because they all going to be Rouged anyways. After that, they can clear the numbers for South American flights. But then why PVR and SJD gets a new mainline number, but MEX doesn't...?

WS / SK have upgraded their partnership to full codeshare
https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/news/2...n-partnership-

This includes WS placing its code on SK's YYZ-CPH and it sounds like SK will eventually put its code on the new WS YHZ-CPH.

Aeroroutes has a complete list of routes the two will codeshare on:

WestJet should join Skyteam if Porter Joins OneWorld.

Exactly. AC does have a point.

The people in question made purchases after their luggage had been returned to them, including:

“….a pair of sneakers ($433.61) and a personally monogrammed Tumi suitcase ($1,310.40). ”

AC are within their rights to challenge the CTA’s decision in court. Looks like it was the right decision.

Still there.

The VS codeshare was for routes to Africa / the middle east. They currently have the WS code on VS routes to DXB, JNB, CPT & MLE.

Rough start for WS at PTY. the inaugural departure from YYC left on time but was forced to return for maintenance. They did a tail swap and re-departed at 07:00 almost 8 hours late.

That would be weird. Aircraft lands at Calgary at 4:05 AM in the morning and replacement flight does not depart until 7:30 AM. Stuck at YYC for 3.5 hours with almost nothing open.

Hopefully they were able to get their Elevate lounge open an hour earlier than normally.

As an aside I was looking at trip down to PTY in new year. WestJet was the most logically option, nearly everything else involved a connection through the US (to be avoided if possible) or Toronto. A welcome addition.

On another note, there are some stories floating around that WS is pausing their conversion to non-reclining seats due to backlash from passengers and staff. I did see an interview with their their CEO describing those seat as pre-reclined, whatever that means. Hopefully market pressure will cause them to back track.

Pre reclined means a factory preset to a small degree of recline that is fixed and within the acceptable amount of recline for safety reasons during critical phases of flight such as take off and landing.

Yes, I, too, hope they will back track and fix what should not have been meddled with in the first place.

The Westjet planes vary quite a bit and it's tough to tell when booking what state the planes are in. It's a big difference between a junky -700 with a plug that doesn't work and gets in your way and a newer interior with free wifi.

WS has added a 5th weekly YHZ-LIS on Saturdays

The Saturday flight departs 11:50 and arrives at 21:45. The return on Sunday’s is the same as the others.

They’ve also reduced YXE-MSP to 3x weekly for S26.

On December 15, 1950, what is now known as the Region of Waterloo International Airport (#YKF) took flight! Since opening our doors 75 years ago, the airport has grown from a Regional airfield to a vital hub supporting economic development, tourism, trade and community growth by connecting Waterloo Region to the world.
To celebrate 75 incredible years, let's take a trip down memory lane together.

Nice historical timeline of YKF. There is one glaring error. The photo of the Wellington-Waterloo Flight Centre that says "1980s" is off by a couple of decades as there's clearly visible a flat screen computer monitor. Maybe they were referring to the 1980s decor, lol.
