Also, looking at the current board members, they are not the same group of folks who might be running the Burton Cummings Community Centre. I mean, their Treasurer is a founder of a private capitol/family office outfit here in Winnipeg, Pierce and Turnbull just opened up a new multi-million dollar office for their insurance office on Corydon, and on and on.
Let's face it, the club has some well-heeled members, including people who are very capable of leveraging the capitol required to acquire the building and the land from the city and take it back into their own hands. But no, they'd rather keep suckling on the public teat like making demands for $800,000 a year in subsidies on top of free rent...
