I love how they built a complementing little brother for Fountain Place. The sunbelt cities should really thank god for late-modern/postmodern architecture. Without it their skylines would be extremely boring.

The original plan for FP was twins but the oil crash in the early 80's killed the second one...which I am kinda glad because just the one building makes more of a statement.

For Columbus, I'm stealing Atlanta's One Atlantic Center and placing it north of the Rhodes Tower to fill in the gap between the Capitol Square towers and the Nationwide towers. And also, ya know, dethroning the Rhodes Tower as the new tallest building. Atlanta has plenty of trophy PoMo towers...it won't miss it.

I would move the Brooklyn Tower to somewhere on the lakefront in Chicago.....

It's got such a sexy masculine art deco look and would fit right into Chicago's skyline.

For mine, I'd have to move the NCR Headquarters building from Atlanta back to NCR's original home city of Dayton. At 350 feet it doesn't make a huge impression on Midtown Atlanta's skyline, but it would be a stunner on Dayton's mid-sized skyline.

if we are going to go that route i would much rather atlanta keep that outer loopy looking building and the historic ncr campus warehouses in dayton would not have been torn down for no reason. as usual, way to go ohio.

I would move NYC's 53W53 to Seattle ('Moma tower'). It's such a dark, brooding skyscraper that is kind of drowned out by midtown. The angular, jagged silhouette and trusses mirror the Cascades and Olympic mountains ranges. The lower profile of Seattle would give it more of a deserved, leading role in the skyline.

ok ok i can't just crab and not join in --

for fun i would move gehry's downtown manhattan apt tower 8 spruce to downtown cleveland --
because the cleve is overdue for a big snazzy apt tower downtown and back in the day almost got an awesome early gehry tower for progressive insurance --
but also because half of this building is super cool and half of it is value engineered --
so that fits the local developer ethos --

I've never been in love with the CN Tower so I wouldn't wish it on any other city... But if I were Toronto I'd want to snatch one of the iconic supertalls from either Chicago or NYC. Toronto still lacks an iconic supertall office tower even though the robustness of its skyline has caught up with Chicago and considerably closed the gap with NYC.

I agree. Setting aside the CN tower, and despite some of is impressive talls, it is missing that one real standout. And, yes, Toronto certainly has gathered some good momentum these past few decades.

Toronto is not even my city, so I have no business trying to peddle one of their identifiable buildings in the first place! I doubt that even a Torontonian would want to trade their tower away, regardless if it's for a tower with the pedigree of the Sears tower..

Assuming all the scattered office and residential towers were all integrated into the downtown street grid, that would be pretty amazing.

I'd take Salesforce Tower and 181 Fremont in San Francisco, and 270 Park Avenue in Manhattan, and place all three behind 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. These three towers (and hopefully the companies that inhabit them) would kick off the capping of Amtrak's Penn Coach Yard/SEPTA's Powelton Yard and signal that a new innovation district has arrived. Hell, I'd take 1/4th of Transbay Terminal, place it in the same area, and have that be Philly's new intercity bus terminal.

For Center City, as much as I hate to admit it, I'd take Trump Tower in Chicago to fill the Disney Hole at 8th and Market. Such a prominent location demands a supertall, and Chicago's Trump Tower is beautifully designed. I'd make it lose the "Trump" name though.

I'd also consider moving the Cathedral of Learning across PA and placing it in West Philly near Penn and Drexel's campuses.
