I'm not sure if lake saved us or what, but we did not get much snow from this apparently crazy storm.

Other than that, today is not too bad of day.

Nice picture. Those buildings across the street are the type of building I was born in (1964) and my childhood in Montreal, the neighbourhood was Cartier de St-Michel.

We didn't get any snow last night, but a couple bands of lake effect came off Lake Huron closer to London. I had to drive to London today.

Chatham area:

Heading east, snow started around Elgin County

Conditions were probably terrible overnight and early morning

There was a bit less snow past Dutton, and then a ton of snow in London

London was messy

Very heavy rain this evening, wrapping up now. There were points where I think the air was mostly water, probably not possible to breathe outside lol

-1C with a wind chill of -8 and more snow. What the hell is the storm? Extremely cold and snow at the same time. Average high is 6C at this time of the year still. We saw some clearing and even sun 15 min before sunset.

Low of -3C with a wind chill of -10. The wind is brutal and adds to the misery.

The warmspot was Cheticamp, NS at 19.0C.

Warmest low was Solander Island and Sisters Island, BC at 8.5C.

A few weeks ago I got it for 108.9 in Ottawa. Some of our stations vary by $0.15 - $0.20 a day between early morning (high price) and late at night. Every day this occurs.

0C and mostly cloudy in Moncton at 8 AM, only getting up to 4C this afternoon.

We had our first snow overnight. Just a trace with only partial ground cover, and all hard surfaces are clear. Still, it's a harbinger of our impending doom.......

Meanwhile, an iguana alert has been issued for central Florida.

Freezing/near freezing temperatures are making the reptiles become sluggish, and prone to falling out of trees. Beware of falling iguanas!!!

I'm not a fan of this "taste-of-mid-January-in-early-November" weather.

the goddamn winter is long enough as it is.

It's 134.9 near my place at a couple of stations, but down the road it's 144.

As for the snow - Boo-urns.

Drove back during Sunday afternoon from Wakefield area and saw 3 separate car accidents. It happens every single year.

I wonder what’s the more serious alert. The iguana watch or the iguana warning.

The weather around Vancouver has been pretty seasonal. Some nice days and otherwise pretty benign.
Today has been overcast, cool and we’re expecting some rain later.

Yesterday was... not pleasant. When the sun briefly came out it was pretty but the wind was bad. Just look at this photo and you'd think it was the middle of January:

Why Environment Canada got Montreal’s snowstorm forecast wrong

Quote:
Environment Canada says it didn’t expect a snow band to shift as far west as it did overnight Monday, dumping up to 20 centimetres of snow on Montreal — nearly four times what forecasters had predicted.

“We were caught off guard by the amount of snow in Montreal, which was greater than expected across the greater Montreal area,” said Julien Pellerin, meteorologist with Environment Canada, in an interview with CJAD 800 Radio.

“Initially, we expected the 15-to-20-centimetre band to be much farther east, over the Eastern Townships region,” he said. “However, that band shifted a little bit more west over the Montreal area.”
