How will this interface with the Butler Trail? I see a boardwalk in the renderings but I’m trying to understand how the pieces fit together. I’m also haven’t heard anything from the Trail Conservancy or PARD on this, I would think it would need their input/blessing.

Last I remember, a deal was made with TxDOT for them to build (or fund the build of?) the boardwalk that would go in at this part of the trail. From what I understood, that deal was made as a sort of payment for the I-35 updates taking portions of the trail/parkland under/around I-35.

I have no idea if this project will be working with TxDOT and/or the Trail Conservancy on this.

Starting August 4, 2025, there will be a minor Trail detour between South First Street and South Congress Avenue lasting approximately 2 weeks due to the One Lady Bird Lake project construction. Please slow down in this area and use caution.

I’m just hoping we get something like the boardwalk in this rendering. The section between Congress and South first is really narrow and gets very congested so some kind of relief here would be nice.

Is that building really going to have a sod roof as shown in the rendering?
Or is the artist just pandering to the Greens like so many do?

Usually never happens in the build-out. I mean look at the Google sail building. We were promised forests on those balconies lol.

I will say, I'm afraid this one will look really squat due to the sectioning making it seem much shorter than it really is.

It looks like this one is U/C because it appears that they are using diaphragam wall construction like the CC. That makes sense because it has three undergrround levels right next to the river.

The plan in 2023 was for a construction pier TxDot is building to remain for recreational use.

https://www.kut.org/transportation/2...5-construction

And for them to permanently take 1.2 acres of parkland. The replacement wasn't determined yet at that time.

KUT has some new reporting on what the boardwalk in front of One Ladybird Lake will look like.

Has this been VE'd? I can't tell if we're still getting that nice grand staircase to the water...

I'm not clear about what exactly is happening to the trail in front of this project. This project's and TxDOT/Austin PARD's plan seemed to happen around the same time which muddied the waters.

It was never VE’d—the developer only presented their vision of the boardwalk.

Did we go from green accents, to copper/brown, to blue?

Weird upon digging There’s also a solid green version of this same rendering on another site. I don’t dislike this mini symphony square version but I would prefer the copper personally. Related likes posting on insta maybe they will grace us with an update when the concrete trucks arrive
