I suspect something incorporating elements of this is being considered. The city carried out a study a year or so ago and some councillors/staff have dropped vague references at public meetings to its recommendations.

On realigning Jonathan Ave/Edinburgh, there's some serious topography challenges with the brook. The city spent significant money in recent years installing a larger culvert under the street to deal with flooding. And there's the high voltage lines and substation south of Berry Mills.

But yeah, that whole area of the city is a mess. Wheeler overall feels like a huge scar that limits movement through the city.
