There's serious issues with the process if someone can appeal a development permit that is already well into construction.

The middle ground is shrinking on the forums. You're either a YIMBY or a NIMBY.

I don't think much thought has been given to the quest for more height like the impact of 8 storey modern buildings on the existing heritage built form which also contributes to tourism. Charlottetown will probably never reach 3 to 500,000 so 4 storeys isn't outrageously low.

Annoyed, sure, but that's not really a reasonable basis to complain about in public. They don't own the view and never did.

If your right on the McD's, and I believe you're right, it will do well here. The population growth in the area is faster than all of the major communities outside the Capital Region....and it keeps going!

I knew the height would be brought up!! Charlottetown is actually getting kinda sprawlly. Farmland is a valuable resource. The city actually needs some height.

The Developer. They said that it was too ambitious of a development. Probably money was a problem. We may hear something on a smaller scale, that's my take.

Is the other end a liquor expansion?

To add, nice to see a major chain open a fast food restaurant here. More will come! We should see that happening as time goes on.

I would assume the other is for their agency store. That's what people are saying, makes sense.

I was a little disappointed that this 400 unit project didn't go. In order to have 400 units, as these were two eight storey builds, the city will probably end up with eight 50 unit apartment buildings, which would add to sprawl.
They haven't quite caught on here that sprawl is happening and they need to go up.

I wish they would have gone to at least 6 floors on this one.

I see activity has begun. There was a crew putting in floor joists today. It may have been a manufacturing delay that caused this.
