I guess that explains the length of the line but I wonder if they always line up along Seymour? I’m surprised they would wait so long for a fare to the airport, you’d think they would be missing out on other fares.

This seems false. Perhaps in nominal dollar terms, but in every other metric I would imagine it is not.

"Municipal" might be doing a lot of the work in qualifying that statement. I still doubt the claim, but, if it's only against strictly municipal projects, it might be possible. You know, ruling out road projects with any provincial, regional/metro/translink, or federal planning/funding/work, the bar gets a lot lower.

Like, compared to any other road project carried out solely by the City of Surrey with no outside involvement, I can't think of anything else. 96 Avenue's big do around the Golden Ears construction probably wouldn't count, building King George way way back wouldn't count.

I'd buy that it's Surrey's biggest. BC's biggest... even BC's biggest municipal*, that's a real lofty claim.

You're probably right with that "nominal dollar terms" bit.

The Hwy 1 WB Kensington off-ramp which is currently being completely rebuilt is being done in concrete. Hopefully this project solves the seemingly endless ground settlement issues.

Cool! I mean not cool that you were in an accident but that I captured it

Please tell me you were not the motorcyclist, if so I would have many question,
first are you ok and why wasn't your helmet (chin strap) straped on, the helmet went flying 10 meters down the road.
(I came to this thread after noticing a jump of views in my accident videos)

EDIT: And work continues at that intersection, tore up more sidewalk and redesigning.

Yesterday... I will post a timelapse when completed.

Nah, I was in the November 2015 crash. Before they added the bike lane and made changes to the lighting. Other than a sore face from the airbag for a day or two, no medical issues. But it was a stressful time for sure dealing with ICBC and everything.

"no medical issues" good to hear. Yeah, stress can be more damaging to the body than broken bones. Nice to hear from you, hopefully next time under better circumstances

Meanwhile the Port Mann Bridge has been a complete cluster**** the entire week. Driving into Surrey, especially North Surrey is a total gongshow these days. No surprise that this is happening...tons of new developments and return to office mandates with zero infrastructure improvements or lane expansions.

Huh, isn't this the exact demonstration of "just one more lane will fix things" being false? After all, the Port Mann went from five lanes to ten lanes, surely that should have fixed it?

Maybe we should instead build infrastructure that encourages mode switching for people who are able to do so so there's not as much congestion for vehicles that can't switch?

No. The old port Mann bridge had crazy backups all day long. The difference is night and day
