Looking at Google Earth it appears to just be a culdesac with good marketing. Large wedge shaped lots like the one north of it. A more interesting looking place is Royal Park SW of Emerald Park, still mostly empty but the plan shows it eventually being quite large. Their website bills Chuka Creek as a major waterway. https://discoverroyalpark.ca/

While I had Google Earth open I noticed the solar farm east of the city beside the solo wind turbine. It is quite large.

I went out to the Emerald Park cardlock today and grabbing some pictures of south Chuka on the way back. Judging from the cleared land around the cardlock the new business park will be quite large. There's a lot of empty commercial lots in that area, but this one is right off a bypass exit. No further work in AE Wilson Park since the pieces of concrete fell over the other day. I didn't realize how shallow the water is there since its always murky. I think the two concrete bars out in the water are the tops of jersey barriers like the one on shore.

There's been a sign up since at least last year when the roundabout was built. This page says 114 acres. https://www.avisonyoung.ca/properties/deer-run-business-park

There's a lot plan there as well. https://cdn.sharplaunch.com/v2/client-10...Rev_5_1_Map_update_July_2025_cropped.png

Grand Coulee roundabout road base in place and compacted. Probably a month or more of concrete work before they pave. The Emerald Park one has a concrete ring in the middle, lane separating islands and an overrun area on the outside of the turns.

Does anyone know that there’s any updates on the new library? That is planned for downtown.

Yes. I figured they'd have approved the debt for it back when they approved its construction.

I went past Imperial School for the first time this week and they had done some demolition on the remaining portion of the building, and dug out the boiler from its little bunker.

Starting to bring framing steel in for the Harbour Landing School.

The "thing" in AE Wilson park appears to be a cofferdam for the sewage line creek crossing. Once they lower the tarp material and start pumping water out the pressure will press the tarp against the concrete pieces. Also installing the sewage pipe towards Dewdney.

Some topsoil was pushed aside at the Costco site, I noticed that last weekend. They'll have to truck all the top soil to the big pile to the south before construction starts, or bring in some scrapers.

More of the same propaganda from the Administration:
Quote:
According to Daren Anderson, the city’s chief financial officer, the proposed increase would cost the average household about $30 more per year.
. In fact if it is $167 million it is about $1800 per household. Sure there is funding from commercial property taxes, but we all end up paying that indirectly. Same with grants from other levels of government.

I should do another 3D model of the reservoirs, probably sooner than later while the second one is partially covered. My current drone has over 3x the flight time of my previous one so less pressure to get the flight done as fast as possible. Last time I used all 3 batteries.

"per year"

Just more of the infrastructure debt we're dealing with because of Fiacco. So many things should and need to be done now just because he was hellbent on zero or near-zero tax increases.

Lots of big water and wastewater projects on the go or planned. $160 million for the reservoirs / pumping station. $100 million for the south sewage expansion. $75 million for the north sewage lift stations. About $100 million for Buffalo Pound upgrades. Many annual sewage trunk relining projects. Many annual lead service replacements. Also various ongoing storm water projects, they've been ripping up various streets in the north for several years to install larger trunk lines.

Probably just the school yard for the joint use school since the new school was built on Imperial's school yard.

Took some pictures this morning but didn't have time to upload them until this evening.

I was planning to get some closer shots at Imperial School this morning but work was going on today. Paving started on the Arens Road extension, no idea when that will open as they still have to do sidewalks and put up the street lights.

A very short video flying from the Toronto / 15th project over to the Broad / College project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASJH0sdgYsg

Thanks for sharing.
In watching the flyover, it was neat to see the different phases of the Canterbury Park project coming together over the last 20 years (wow - hard to believe it's been that long...) and I suppose even longer when you consider the age of the heritage buildings.

As far as I can tell, there are two remaining development parcels...and in doing some sleuthing...I see Remai has plans for a phase II with their development, which will knock off one of those remaining parcels. More here:

They’re sure dragging their feet on the long-term care home. It’s been announced years ago. I don’t know what their problem is just being cheap. I guess seniors don’t matter to them.
