any decent proposals size wise for Regina? I never hear of any residential tower proposals here.. seems like they're all in Saskatoon. Also seems like Saskatoon has a lot of vibey neighbourhoods, whereas as Regina is a lot quieter.. is there just more of a drive for for your youth in Sk to want to live in one city vs. the other?

Agreed, this is likely a holding play for that property. Lakeview is full of wealthy aging boomers who don't want to move out of the neighborhood, but will need to sell their houses eventually. That Hill Ave property would be perfect for a condo development. The Skuare downtown will be closer to a Regina version of Stackt, and will likely be nicer than anything like it in Winnipeg.

10 videos in the Imperial School Demolition playlist, most of them 5x sped up. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8Jmc40j3t34BwwNkGn53yEuk_6BBrsbe I've been stopping by there the past few mornings but often get there when they are just cleaning up or loading trucks. Maybe they'll knock down that last building tomorrow, but I have a feeling they might just be pulling up more concrete slab.

The ice cream place is right in the middle of one of the airport approach restricted zones, not that there's much to see.

It seems the old Craig golf course is becoming a naturalized park and won’t get developed.

That's a pretty smart idea.

Since the apartments in Rosewood are under construction I checked the permit report. 10 permits each between $1.7 and $2.3 million and 10-16 units each. 4 under Avana's name and 6 under the church developing the neighbourhood. So I guess Avana will manage those 6 instead of owning them outright.

PTI manufactures transformers. There is an earlier post with the details.

The new catholic school with this project (St. Raphael) will be adding 3 portables to the school before opening in January.

Last section of school still up. I figured they'd want it down before school starts next week, but I guess they could work on the weekend.

I'm a bit confused by the work in the water at AE Wilson Park, maybe a temporary pier for workers. After taking some pictures I was talking to someone when suddenly I see several of the pieces they stood up falling over, so I have a before and after.

I think they threw the bison bone sculpture from Lewvan and Regina Ave in the Creek.

I rode past the Imperial School site. I think they are holding off on taking down the last section of building while they clean up enough to get a bit of school yard in place before next week. Yesterday they started stockpiling topsoil on the area they removed a building foundation the previous day.

Tree planting at the new park Eastbrook.

In case you don't hear it often enough, just wanted to say thank you again for these photos! You're doing a great service to this community, and the community of Regina at large!

You're welcome. Its nice to get out and explore. Thinking back before I started regularly cycling around the city I had little awareness of the city changing. Always just sticking to the main roads when driving anywhere.

It just shows how much is going on in the city. It’s awesome to see. Thank you again. You make this thread one of the best in the Manitoba Saskatchewan section.

I totally agree with that - you need to get out of your vehicle to really explore/know your city (unless you're a delivery or taxi driver I guess). I echo the previous comments (echo gecho?) on the quality and depth of your photos and updates, even as an outsider I find quite interesting!

Looks like 905ers question was missed, so I'll try my best, but I'm sure the locals can provide way more insight.

The Regina development tracker is here.

Looks like several rezoning applications, but as far as actual development proposals there appears to be one:

A 48 unit, four 3-storey stacked townhouse style residential buildings at 1840 Lorne Street; 2301 11th Avenue

This is probably incorrect as I can't imagine there is only one recent residential proposal, so perhaps most don't have to go to a public hearing? I would assume there is a lot of SFH construction on the edges of town, do those need review/approval or were they previously approved? Enquiring out of town minds want to know!

Thanks again all for keeping this an interesting and active corner of SSP.

Do you know what's going on with Skuare? Like they had a big anouncement about it a year ago and I thought they were going to start construction on it pretty quick but there is nothing happening and its September? Not sure why the big announcement if they weren't going to build it.

Last I heard they were looking for a federal grant. This story mentioned it going before council but there isn't a followup. https://leaderpost.com/news/local-news/c...m-outdoor-event-space-in-downtown-regina
