This must be a daily record because we are getting quite late in the season for 40+ temperatures.
It's a pretty impressive late season heat wave.
I am assuming if this is late July, Lytton hits 42-43 probably.

For sure if this was early July we would be seeing 43, maybe even 44 temps.

Usually the season for potential 40+ in Lytton is the last ten days of June to the first ten days of August. August 24th and August 25th hitting 40+ is exceptional.

25C with a humidex of 28 and mainly sunny. I knew it was going to be way warmer than what EC was forecasting since the NWS forecast for Northern New York/Vermont was in the 79-80F range for today. EC gave us 21C bumped to 22C the morning of...

Low of 20C this morning.

The warmspot was Lytton, BC at 41.3C. New yearly high.

Warmest low was Malahat, BC at 19.8C.

From x, it looks like the latest 40C in BC is August 30th.

🌡️41.3°C in Lytton as of 4:15 pm and rising. That's crazy!

We could break the BC August record [42.2°C] set at the same station in 2023, but the difference is that it's much later in the month!

The latest Tmax > 40°C ever recorded in BC was on August 30, 1967 [41.1°C, Lytton].

We had a rainy/partly cloudy day in Toronto today, and a comfy high of 20C.
I went to the CNE with family, taking in the usual sights, and seeing how some things nearby have changed, but otherwise the show is the same, fairly fun exhibition it always has been.
I took this while in the area - I'd taken images with my camera last year so this year I tried to step out of my usual mode of photo-taking.

19C and mostly cloudy in Moncton at 9 AM, going up to 26C this afternoon.

We had some showers here yesterday afternoon, but, probably no more than 3-4 mm of rain. Not nearly enough. Next chance for showers is Saturday night.

Yep, were supposed to be seeing + 39c or so here in Kamloops, but likely pushing that into the +40's. Odd for this time of year... Our summer has been a resounding disappointment ( with temps ) but great with NO smoke this year at all to date.

Same and same.
Our highest high this year is only 37.1C and that was way back on July 1st.
But as far as smoke there's been almost nothing except the 48 hours from a fire near Spokane.

Another wild day cloud wise. Seemingly dark clouds everywhere while the sun remained shining thru most of it.

Rain falling over the lake

The rain above ended up developing into a fairly substantial thunderstorm, but again over the lake. The sun shining in the foreground made the clouds look even darker.

Yeah... its been warm enough that the lakes are all around 76F - 82F depending where you go ( Sicamous to Osoyoos ) I've spent 8 weekends at lakes through out the region this year thus far and am headed to Summerland this Thursday to finish off the summer, then to Calgary. We are lucky to have access to the weather , the heat and the geography that we do here. Sometimes I think some of us ( including myself ) take it for granted. Other times, I wonder why EVERYONE hasn't moved here yet.

Cool northern air is here all week. Feels like air conditioning outside with the lower humidity, the sunshine makes it feel warm and comfortable rather than hot.

Today's high was 22.7 and the low was 10.1, last time we dropped below 10 was June 2. Could happen tonight.

Nice pics dude but wondering why everyone hasn't moved there is a little smug. I'll take Ontario cottage country, thanks. I mean there are literally thousands upon thousands of lakes carved into and around the rugged Canadian Shield, vs a smattering in the interior. A Great Lakes beach goer would also laugh at the beach you've shown. I'll get called an 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 for saying this, likely. But geez.

If you think there is only “a smattering” of lakes in BC, then you obviously know nothing of BC. Not saying Ontario doesn’t have more lakes, but every single valley in the BC interior is lined with lakes, not to mention the Cariboo area, and then there are the rivers! It’s more than enough to go around and enjoy.

Anyways, Lytton is currently 41.1 and Lillooet is 40.0. I really didn’t expect to see the nation’s flagship heatwave at the tail end of August. Three days in a row 40+ for the Fraser Canyon.

I meant the area in question, not the whole of BC.

21C (humidex of 22) and a mix of sun and clouds. Cool air.

Low of 15C this morning.

The warmspot was Lytton, BC at 41.3C. Ties yesterday's yearly marks.

Warmest low was Beaver Island, NS at 18.7C.

We had a high of 17 C in Timmins today and the sun came out for a bit. Much better than yesterday which was rainy and drizzly and a high of only 11 C. I'm so glad that I was off when the weather was nicer.

And here comes The East what a surprise. This time it's Angry Joe.
Ironically you sound a little smug.
And Ontario has thousands of lakes because it's so flat.
And how many lakes does one person need anyways?

Denscity you are the biggest Homer in this thread and everyone knows it.

"Here comes the east". Well bro literally implied that he's surprised the rest of us bums haven't moved to his superior part of Canada yet. Like?

There's a lot of lakes cause its flatter, ok, is that a problem? The whole point of cottage country is there are thousands of lakes. Good thing its flatter I guess? Pretty much everyone in Ontario has stories of spending time at a cottage, boating, swimming, etc. No one would trade those experiences for anything. The sheer amount of lakes means its accessible to everyone in one way or another.
