Yup! Claridge really stepped it up the last couple projects.

Took a few pictures yesterday afternoon. The bronze detailing is far more visible in real life. High quality design and materials. Very impressive for Claridge.

This angle with the glass corner will always be highly visible even after the area is built up thanks to the Adisoke park and the valley on the other side.

Is it bronze or just rust? I have heard a few different opinions on this from folks that have seen it up close. Tell tale sign would be if there is any staining directly below the panels.

It's definitely an intentional design feature. Even renderings on their website show the bronze coloured theme.

But could it be Corten, that's designed to rust (and form a protective skin)?

Does it not create a rust stain below the installation? If I get a rust stain on a vehicle there is a stain down the panel below it requiring WD-40 to get it off on a regular basis.

How do we feel about it now that it's complete? I think it turned out far better than the renderings suggested. A quality we haven't seen from Claridge in over a decade, if ever. Still a plain design overall, but very well executed.

As someone who lives next to it, I like it enough. I just wish I knew when they were going to start the second tower. A half open pit kinda looks like crap. Can’t imagine the renters in the first tower love that as their ‘neighbour’ for now.

It's an incredibly generic building with no exceptional features. Perhaps the materials used are better than Claridge has used in the past, but the architect didn't exactly break any sweat in coming up with an innovative or creative design. I was just in the area the other day. My verdict? A marvelously bland grey tower.

The more I think about Lebreton, it is quietly filling in. If/when the arena gets approved, the majority of the flats will be either developed or under construction. Just a few blocks of nice infill and we have a completed neighbourhood!

I think it's a step in the right direction for Claridge, and beats a charc-white any day. But in the grand scheme of all the buildings U/C right now its kinda basic. I hope tower two takes the materials and design language and elevates it, sort of what like the Dale II did.

I could see that being a irritant. Claridge usually has a tendency to build all at once. Weird they didn't do that here.

It does have a few features that go above basics. The glass corner and the Corten are good examples.

Sometimes starting construction helps sell condos. So many end up never getting built, which might be turning off a lot of potential buyers. Claridge seems to have enough capital to start before reaching a certain threshold.

I walked by the other day and examined some of these features. The vertical walls leading up to the lobby had no staining on the pavers abutting it. Not anything appreciable anyways.



The caps for the little garden retaining walls seem to be a slightly different material from how it is oxidizing but should end up the same.



Chatted with a fellow outside who lived there and asked if there was any teething issues and he said its been fine. No word on planned start for the neighbouring tower yet. Didn't strike me as the kind of fellow who would be all over that type of information though.

Again shocked they haven't started the 25 floor twin. Claridge nearly always builds 2 to 3 tower projects in one shot. How are they expected to build the arena district if they've been so slow with land they've held for 20 years?

Looks lonely. Kind of bland from that angle. Odenak will go a long way in making that angle interesting.
