It's pretty common. I think the Superstore in Westboro has two entrances again, nearly every grocery store in malls...

Are you telling me there's a pre-built entrance to the landing at the top of the Lyon station entrance, and it's not going to be used? What are you, nuts?

The Westboro 2nd entrance is a long hallway, as are most mall grocery stores.

The Walmart at the Gloucester Centre has the main entrance/exit with cashiers and self checkouts, and a second self checkout only entrance/exit at the mall entrance.

That said, they closed down the second entrance (the mall entrance) about a year ago. Now it's only accessible from the parking lot.

I just saw the photos posted on Linkedin. Store looks great with a real industrial type look.

The only proper two entrance grocery store I can think of is the Zehrs at Conestoga Mall in Waterloo, Ontario. The main entrance faces the parking lot, but there are self checkouts at the mall entrance, and the mall entrance puts customers directly into the store (and not into some hallway). It is also the only large format grocery store I can think of that is integrated into a reasonably significant shopping mall (600k sq feet).

The SuperWalmart at Bayshore would be another example. I know it's a Walmart but both entrances (mall and parking) drop you directly in the grocery portion. I can imagine it can cause hassles regarding security, carts, etc but overall it's a good setup.

Went today, Sunday, after 6PM, so no office workers, and it was one of the busiest grocery store I've ever been to. Maybe because it's on a smaller size, but it was annoyingly crammed. The cashiers couldn't keep up so they even had workers on self-checkouts help scan stuff to make it move quicker. Crazy.
They should expand, I believe there is some unoccupied space left?
Feels like this area can support another grocery like that tbh.

Give it time, it's just everyone in Centretown trying out shiny new things. Will be interesting to see what it looks like in a few months.

Could be the long weekend effect. Not sure about Ottawa but lots of grocery stores in Gatineau are closed today.

Plenty of ads at the Lyon Station concourse.

They really packed this store as much as physically possible. No wasted space. It think I read it has 80% of the stock of a much larger suburban location. Some very innovative ways of maximizing the space, especially in the freezer section. Certainly no space left for a second entrance, though I think there's a lack of cash registers.

I found that this floor plan is no longer accurate. They have elevators to the parking garage roughly where the knock-out panel is visible, and the stairs are oriented a different way.

Overall, it's a nice store. Very busy when I went Thursday, and it seemed to be residents of the area shopping, not looky-loos or office workers.

I went to Saveurs at WE II on Sunday around 11:30 and 2:00. Completely dead. Le Vieux in general seemed very dead.
