Boutique hotel “proposed” for Pandosy just south of KGH. This area really needs more attention when it comes to tourism. It’s a beautiful part of town, great beaches and some of the cities best restaurants, cafes and boutiques. More hotels, please!

Kelowna Definitely lacks when it comes to options for resorts and hotels, especially in proximity to the lakefront. It will be interesting to see what council decides with this plot of land.

Thanks guys! It was fun putting this video together.

I no longer care about monetizing my channel or becoming "established" (since I posted this video I have actually lost subs) so its pure passion and hobby at this point.

Next summer I'm going to be in the Okanagan no matter what, and I cant wait to get my cameras and drone going again!

Did they get all the foundation problems on the UCBO tower sorted out? I think the building was fine, it was just affecting the neighbours.

Looks like UBCO will be building a replacement building "like-for-like" at another site near the Capri mall. I've got two questions about this:

1. Should the replacement building actually be "like-for-like" or should it be a building maximizing density for the new site with 80 units reserved as the affordable replacement units.

2. Does UBCO actually come out ahead in this situation? UBCO land swapped with the city and now owns the 1360 Bertram site (the site with the issues). So UBCO gets another prime development site downtown in exchange for the development of the replacement building. Will they profit or break-even on the replacement building? If so, seems like they come out ahead.

Didn't know they straight up own that land... wouldn't be too surprised if "2BCO Tower: The Better One with twice the height and twice the foundational problems" popped up (/jk)

There's a chance that the damaged building UBCO gets will be turned into a parkade. I think I remember reading that because they will reduce the parkade depth of the downtown tower from 4 to 2 stories, they will try to make up for the shortage of parking spots elsewhere.

That’s a great shot, I didn’t make it out to Kelowna this year, but we usually go out to that part of BC at least once or twice a year. It’s been nice watching Kelowna evolve into a bigger city. It’s too bad Kelowna has picked up some of the big city problems that go with it.

Not bad, will watch this one with interest! mass timber highrises are on the horizon for most jurisdictions, curious to watch one go up!
