It seems very duplicative.

Oakberry is directly next door selling smoothies + bowls, and Evolve just opened up their supplements store on the 3rd floor selling a lot of the same dry goods.

Talk about potential for cannibalization!

Sounds like it's an express location with just food and drinks

Both are franchised.

I first read that as 'cannabisization' - now that would make people pretty chill!

By me today.
There's a passage around the service counter with some display shelving.
There must be rolltop shutters to secure the display.

What's happening on that surface mounted (hand)rail in the foreground? Is there a slope to the floor?

Yeah there seems to be some slope towards that section of the atrium.

Yeah, there's a weird floor plane in there.
The actual floor level slopes etc. to come up to street level for the entrances, etc.
without any steps.

Perhaps that is anti-flooding interior design?

You can also flush a spill and no problem!

BTW, excellent looks to the atrium now with all the kiosks opened: love the space to hang out. Now fingers crossed for the food hall to finally announce an opening.

They're not, only two are open (and Starbucks). One opened for a pop-up, and closed again.

I wonder if it would have been more lively in there if they allowed merchandise stalls along the street front windows?

Personally I don't think it's a problem of street presence but a lack of bodies in that section of downtown. I guess with the kiosks you can wait for more density/attractions (VAG) and then maybe convert it into something more profitable in 15-20 years.

there is a really nice almost too huge cafe at the north entrance called Deville, the whole place has a nice atmosphere so security must be doing a really good job, I often see people with their laptops working and studying, and everything is clean and nice

Probably the best protected building next to the Apple Store

The mezzanine is being expanded somehow (escalator removal)

I wonder which level is the 'mezzanine'?
Is that the Loblaws level?

Or is it around the other side in the unopened food court?

It is amazing what good security policies can do, you can actually feel comfortable to set up on your laptop and coffee and snack on the main floor and not have to worry about getting harassed by people panhandling or being obnoxious.

I really love the atmosphere in the place, they are doing a great job with it.

I went and grabbed the salmon pesto meal there for lunch and it was amazingly good, and so much food for $12.

I assumed it was the food kiosk level.

terminology is confusing with this building, the huge cafe at the north end is sunken a half level below the main floor, then there is the juice place and body energy on what I would call the main floor, and then the big hot food serving area of Loblaw's is up the escalator a level

They called Deville

"Level 2 (grade level), 366 Dunsmuir Street"

https://plposweb.vancouver.ca/Public...ctId=223163954

The food stalls are also Level 2 but they call it the concourse.

Maybe the mezzanine is the area around the food hall and another weird mid-level.

Just noticed a May 2025 permit update saying there is a possible future tenant coming in.
