Bianca amor on Norte Dame Drive has been demolished for 6 storey apartment building. Materials are still being hauled out.

Paneling on the Canary Lofts on Columbia st are starting to go on, everything around the city seems to be quickly moving along..

We've got another 6 floor going up on 400 Tranquille road next spring I believe
( unless we break ground early ) . But that region continues to lead the way for sure.

I thought this was an interesting piece of information regarding the data centers. 2,000 homes heated by only the Bell center. TRU is in for rezoning to add land to their North Bench Village along summit and hillside drive. I'm guessing those two things are connected.

Cost-effective hydroelectricity from BC Hydro is a solution for Bell Canada's new AI Fabric facilities in Kamloops, British Columbia. And on the cooling side, they tie into the local District Energy System (DES), explained Dan Rink, president, Bell AI Fabric. This allows them to distribute waste heat to warm approximately 2,000 homes via the DES, a centralized system that pipes steam, hot water, or chilled water to buildings in the community, eliminating the need for individual furnaces or air conditioners.

That is interesting, thanks for posting.
Not sure if the LCDES building is still under construction, or complete. They broke ground on it last year. This is where the data centres will be tied into. I like how they made the energy plant a focal point and on display in the middle of campus. Stantec report released earlier this year shows a solar panel covered walkway that will also tie into the plant.

Feels like its shaping up to be a couple busy years around Kamloops. With the HVC mine expansion, Data Centers and the potential aviation fuel refinery we are talking north of a billion dollars in investment, maybe closer to 2 billion with the refinery and 5000-6000 construction jobs. Maybe about 1000 permanent jobs.

Just came across this proposal for the north shore near the Northhills mall.



Pretty significant if it comes to fruition. Anyone have more details?

Good catch mindcash! North Shore keeps pumping them out. Apparently this might be built of some type of compressed wood product. I think the plan is to convert Simcoe Ave (alley) into a pedestrian centric street as well.

It will never be done. This is what someone is hoping will be built as they are trying to jack the price of the land up.
I hope this gets built, but as someone who is VERY involved in the building community, I know a pipe dream ( CON ) when I see it. Like what's happening at the Tournament inn.

Not a bad idea. I wonder if we will see future development push west from the new multiplex. This would likely result in the construction of some new over passes then I assume.
