There's no indication any type of hiring has happened for that store yet on job boards. I'm guessing it will be late summer or even fall/Q4 2025.

I walked around here and it's very nice but I didn't see any businesses being fitted out except a KFC and a hotpot restaurant on the ground floor Lougheed side.

Not anytime soon. I peeked inside and there is currently no sign of any work being done.

I have been noticing this a while back. I don't know if I'm just sensitive to it or it's a real recent trend. I have noticed a lot of retailers now taking a ton of time to go from announcement to opening. Brentwood/Gilmore/Metrotown all had some retailers taking months or years to actually do something. KFC took months before it even begun its current work. I'm just really curious as to why this process appears to be taking so long now.

Because I'm a nerd and invested in the development of the neighbourhood, I've been looking through Burnaby's permit approvals/tabulation reports - I've seen permits come down for work to begin on a lot of the retailers in recent months but not T&T yet.

^^ I noticed that as well. I doubt T&T is in a rush to open first unless they think there is some huge neighbourhood demand for an Asian supermarket.

I think there's a tendency to announce the tenant before designs are developed, submitted to the city for the permit process, tendered to a contractor, and actually built. Those unfamiliar with City of Burnaby permitting requirements might run into surprises and that just pushes the completion timeline further and further.

Surprising given the extensive amenities at Gilmore Place, but there is a future in the area.
Supplement King must be happy. It will drive people into the project.
Similarly, Marine Gateway has a Fitness World and a T&T, (plus a Winners).
Hoping that Marshalls takes the big space on Level 2.

Fitness World to open 36,000 sq. ft. flagship gym location at Gilmore Place

Quote:
The 36,000 sq. ft. Fitness World will be situated within the third level in the commercial base podium of the Two Gilmore Place mixed-use residential tower, which became Metro Vancouver’s new tallest building in 2023.

This will be a flagship “Signature Fitness World” location, second in size only to the chain’s 2022-opened, 40,000 sq. ft. Signature Fitness World at The Shops at Morgan Crossing in South Surrey. It will also be the chain’s second “Signature” location.

This consolidates two spaces that were originally designated and marketed as office space. With the conversion of this office space into a fitness gym, about 44,000 sq. ft. of office space on the same level currently remains unleased by developer Onni Group.

Probably Units 300 and 310:

They were originally going into Amazing Brentwood back in 2020 before the bankruptcy

The Gilmore one will be a Signature gym, so their higher level membership.

AI says Evolve Amazing Brentwood is only 21,000 sq ft, so this is a lot bigger.
I wonder if there'll be validated parking?

By me tonight.

Light feature on the shorter tower and on the protruding box on the tallest one now lit up as well.

I heard that the developer Onni have announced that tower 4-6 (not built yet) will share the same amentities as Tower 1,2, and 3. Meaning all 6 towers will share the amenities. Can anyone confirm?

Seems wrong. The most recent plans from Onni had four floors of amenities in the tallest tower of phase 2
