Really wondering what's going on with the hotel development on rogers way beside coast hotel, progress is insanely slow.

Yeah... I know the builder from working with them on projects. They are slow and hire mostly " friendly companies " or do it themselves. Could be an issue with money too. They are also the folks behind the project where they tore the pizza join out down town
( where the Grind coffee shop used to be ) . They announced that 3 years ago and leveled the building and have done nothing since.

Not a chance. The flooring and tile work is no where near done.

I still can't believe the exterior railings haven't started to go on yet! This was from today. I think July is out of the question too. Looks like they're on the 7th floor for Alyssium tower.

Ghost town at the Rogers Way project.

Just down the street on Rogers Place was bumping busy.

Noticed while I was in the neighborhood that the 2nd hotel beside the Fairfield might be underway. Excavator was moving dirt where it would be going.

I'll bet that Fairfield project will finish before the Rogers way project lol

Remember the Pizza joint that was demoed downtown a few years ago... supposed to be a 6 story condo. Same group as the hotel on Rogers. So... maybe 2032.

Same with the riverfront condo project where Storms restaurant was. I think this company should stick to managing hotels, instead of trying to play developer. They clearly suck at it. It's too bad since they were great looking projects. Their website says the hotel will open this year haha. https://mundiconstruction.ca/residential-developments/

I noticed today that a new Argentine restaurant is going in downtown where Stills was. Nice to see that space lit up again in time for summer.

Nope not crazy, I've noticed that too. I've also noticed that no one seems to care to find out who burned down the Red bridge. It's been almost 8 months and no statements from the RCMP. Media seems to careless. I've talked to 1 RCMP friend about it and he made it seem like they know who did it, but are still building a case. Just seems odd the level of disinterest from the public on the destruction of such a major piece of infrastructure.

Give you 2 guesses. They live on the other side of the bridge, or under the bridge.

My guess is either:

A) They've run out of leads because by car or on foot, they have not even released blurry images of anyone or anything in the vicinity of the bridge when the fire started.

B) They DO have evidence but they don't want to release anything because it may interfere with whatever case they are trying to build for the suspect.

The bridge will be rebuilt on taxpayer dime and the RCMP will silently close the investigation but it's unlikely they will ever find who did it, much less strip them of their assets to recoup a portion of the losses to dismantle and rebuild it.

Likely mismanaged like everything Mundi does. They have no idea what they are doing.

So a big part of this trade war is travel, and the domestic alternatives in Canada. I have long loved the desert, and for those who frequently visit the desert southwest of the US, perhaps this summer they can give the desert canyons of BC a try? A love letter I made using footage I have taken over the last decade of the Thompson and Fraser Canyons.
