The main constraints of the park are the two connections to the lakefront trail flyover. I know from a firsthand source that a flashier design was proposed for this site, which had major logistical issues and looked super tacky. I've seen internal draft renderings-- it was immature and garish, and bird fatalities were predicted to be high.
This revised design is mostly just space for native plants, which is an excellent use for a leftover formerly-radioactive landfill cul-de-sac. It'll be similar in size to Bartelme Park, and probably won't get much tourist attention. Which is fine by me lol
