As someone who lives in the area... HIGHLY AGREED. We need a convenience store or something down this end of the residential area. Always having to go to 6th or Columbia just to grab some snacks or milk at the nearest convenience store is not very "convenient". Or the nearest one is Victoria Hill Market, but you have to cross McBride and the bridge over the highway onto the Patullo... which right now is a big construction zone... so that's not great either.

I feel like the tower that was built at 188 Agnes, at the corner of Agnes and Elliot, would have been a perfect place to put a corner store, with a bus stop right out front, but... they didn't do that. Now they're planning these towers, and the one at 51 Elliot, but still no plans for any convenience store. Come on!

“We have really good group of retailers coming in, like JJ Bean and Club Pilates; a great ramen place,” he told the Record. “We only have one space left, and we have a whole list of people who want it. It (interest) was off the charts.”

Hospitals in Metro Van are particularly depressing though.

Just compare ours with the new hospital complexes in Toronto or Montreal.

Here's hoping that the new VGH towers will break the trend.
