When the view is really close, it's also cut off on the edges.

I actually think the view of Downtown Pittsburgh from PNC Park would be even better if the stadium was slightly farther from the river, like if the right field wall was located where the third base line currently is.
How visible is the Philly skyline from the seats at Citizens? It doesn't seem that visible unless you're in the far upper decks, but I can't really tell from the photos.

Citizens Bank Ballpark is ~3 miles south of center city.

Here's a good unzoomed view of the skyline from the upper deck.

It definitely looks like a cool view, but I prefer the more in-your-face skyline action of PNC.

At least you still have a view of a beautiful open sky.

Fixed roof ballparks are the worst of the worst for views.

Indoor baseball makes baby Jesus cry.

I wouldn't say that Rogers Centre in Toronto has the best view or scenery, but it does have a pretty dramatic transition if the dome is opened up during the ballgame.

Most baseball stadiums don't have huge overhangs that provide significant shade, at least for day games. In SF, I get pretty overheated if it's a sunny day game and any hotter than 70F and I'm exposed to the sun, so I actually prefer to select seats that are further back that get shade more rapidly as the sun moves with the afternoon. I'm not sure how folks that have more hot and humid summers handle being out there for hours at a time, but as a native San Franciscan my skin is naturally sensitive to hot weather.

^ I don't do it much anymore, but back in the bachelor days of my youth I spent PLENTY of afternoons wilting away in the blistering sunshine of the Wrigley Field bleachers.

The only antidote was shitloads of beer!!!

Of course, a beer wasn't 16 — dollars back in the old days.

I have no idea how the kids these days do it.

You can see it from the entire upper bowl, minus most of the outfield seats. You can see it a little bit from some of the upper level of the lower bowl. The top of the lower bowl is at street level.

It's PNC Pittsburgh and Comerica Detroit and then everywhere else. Bank of America in Charlotte deserves a mention too.

Yes, but another location would have been so much better. Or at least make the hill more attractive

I can tell you, it's brutal. I can take a lot of heat but it's taxing as the innings go on. Anymore I prefer going to evening games once the summer starts for this reason.

The Battle of the Bay will be on the Delta for three years fellas, although West Sac could count as the yay with the Deep Water Ship Channel.

Summer day games up in Sac during their 110F heat waves

At least the stadium in Vegas will be indoors and air conditioned.

My Dad took the whole family to a Giants game around 2015 or so, and it was one of those windless sunny days that are so rare in SF. I was wearing those black stretchy-denim jeans that got super hot in the sun. It was super uncomfortable, and when I got home my legs were red and stinging. I got a minor burn!

Comiskey Park used to have a view of the highrises of the Stateway Gardens and Robert Taylor public housing projects from the upper reaches of its upper deck back in the old days.

Source: wikipedia

But those projects were all demo'ed 2 decades ago, and comiskey itself underwent extensive modifications around the same time that entirely removed the 8 highest rows from its upper deck, in an attempt to make the cavernous stadium feel a little cozier and more intimate (it certainly helped).

Nowadays, the vast majority of people in the park only have a view of the giant outfield billboards.

Soldier field also has some good views from the eastern side upper decks.
