I found this cool video uploaded by Georgia Tech about New City's Fourth Ward development. Its very long, but in it are tons of renderings, models and photographs of the the construction for the office, hotel and apartment buildings. And even more interesting, around 2:50 or so you will see some renders, photos and foam models of the next phase that I have not seen anywhere else.

Awesome! I wasn't tremendously keen on the renderings I had seen, but this shows them so well. They are going to be amazing. thanks for posting

Yeah, I definitely have been less than impressed with phase II renderings compared to phase I. However, some of the images in this symposium make me feel a bit better. Still not thrilled about this podium and how they seem to not be carrying on with the traditional street grid, but perhaps the topography is not making it easy on them.

Regardless, two more massive apartment towers adding hundreds of new apartments and some new retail is fantastic for the area and the beltline.

My messages from the last 2 days have disappeared from the NYC forum. I wonder if they are being moderated or if there is a problem with the site. My comments speculated the economic situation was going to impact construction, which seems relevant enough. I see several comments in the same vain deleted there. Don’t see any mention here either.

Idk about the moderation, but I think its safe to say the current market volatility will affect the financing situation for the time being.

I'm with the NIMBYs on that one. I don't think highrises belong among single family homes. Looking at Atlantic Station with townhomes in the shadows is so bizarre to me. I really like the way Midtown is zoned to taper off the height and commercial space toward the quieter historic district.

The new proposal is actually denser anyway, since it adds a few hundred more residential units. Looks good to me and fitting for the area

Isn't the heart of Midtown's skyline among the single family homes of Ansley Park?

I’m still not huge on the massing of the proposed towers, however think the facades & materials they are we thinking of using would work wonderfully.

I’ve thought more brick/clay looking facades would complement that natural areas of Atlanta well, similar to the cities heights condos or what you would see in Colombia or South American residential towers.

Agree on all points. The podium is just not what I was thinking phase II would be, nor what I hope for. However, it is what it is. Can't wait to see some more detailed/realistic renderings like we did for Phase I.

Agreed with the podium, too. Part of what makes the residences & park spaces nearby so inviting & integrated (ie O4W park, playground, dog park…) is that it does not have the podium in comparison to the office tower.

Exciting news. Have an updated progress report on Dingleberry. Been almost 6 months since my last update and the results speak for themeless. As you can see tremendous headway has been made on this project and is surpassingly expectations. it's estimated that at least 0.1% of the project has been completed as of today.

There was a kickoff event recently for the proposed FutureVerse museum downtown.

It seems the two most likely locations are Centennial Yards or the Home Depot Backyard.

If the goal is to open the museum in 2028, and if Centennial Yards is the location, then wouldn't it have to go in the entertainment district that's already under construction? I'm not sure how they'd alter the current layout to include this museum. There are only 4 buildings: hotel, Cosm, the concert venue and the restaurant/retail building. Could they add another level or two to the restaurant/retail building at this point to include the museum?

I guess not if they allow the entertainment offerings to expand into other areas in the project. That has been a nagging concern for me for a while now--that this whole thing will develve into primarily an entertainment and hotel district, with token residential components. Yet another place downtown where people merely visit, rather than live.
