Cookies By George moved into the Atrium a couple of months ago, and have already packed up and gone. Lee's Donuts have stayed for now, although the bags of day-old on the counter whenever I'm there suggest they're far from selling out.

With City Market just upstairs, there's a lot of food offerings nearby, so it would be hard for any food operator to be successful in those kiosks. They're awkward spaces as they don't have a hidden back-of-house space
or venting for real cooking. I could see them eventually closing off the north end of the atrium and leasing it as restaurant space.

Thank god they didn't open the food hall that would have been a total disaster.

It would depend on the offerings and how many Amazon employees have moved in upstairs.
Usually in food courts, the landlord chooses the mix of tenants to have a variety.
The kiosks are just coffees, donuts and smoothies, not substantial food.

... and I'm not sure about the wayfinding in that place (i.e. where would the food court be accessed from?)

It was on Level 1.

Landlord improvement for a new mezzanine and changes to the main entrance in the future Food Hall area of The Post, 658 Homer Street.

There's a bubble tea shop opening a kiosk as well. Also the Cookies by George was just a popup for December which explains their short stay.

That's a good move to create an entrance to the food hall space from Homer.
Outside of event nights when customers may be coming from the QE, arena and stadium,
the main group of customers (lunch crowd) will be coming from upstairs and the Homer side.
Hamilton is more of the back side of the building.

The food hall is 26,000 sq ft according to the Hive article, so not big enough for an alternate big box retailer to move in.

I assume the office towers are more than half empty all the time. Anyone been inside the parkade recently?

I thought the community policing office was going into the old TD branch at the Woodwards Building.

I’ve found it interesting that The Post has what are either security guards or traffic patrollers at the entrance/exits of the parking there. Is that all the time or just on Event nights when they’re charging $30 ?

They are always there I think more to keep out vagrants than anything to do with parking enforcement. Maybe it's a requirement from Amazon.

Superbaba is opening up in The Post.. It could work in the food hall but unless they have a bunch of other places opening maybe the Fogo de Chão space.

Actually it looks like it might go into The Food Hall area. They've been doing some kind of progress inspections on the space.

I live in the US but have a condo in Vancouver and have been interested to finally visit The Post in person. I was looking forward to seeing the collection of neon signs that were supposed to be on permanent display there but I couldn't find them and everyone I asked looked at me like I was crazy. Are they in storage somewhere or did they go back to the Vancouver Museum?

Neon signs! That got my attention, are they there? I work in that area at least once a month, next time I will take a look.

The display of old neon signs was intended to be part of the food hall. The selected operator of the food hall went bankrupt before it was fitted out, so the signs don't appear to have been installed - and if they were, they're not visible. So far there's no news about an alternate food hall operator.
