I love that shot from Atlantic Station Julian! It fills such a perfect spot in the skyline and that view captures it.

I noticed the glass has more 'blue' in it than I thought looking at the renderings, and I think it's going to look great with the 'tan' veneer of the rest of the lower building. (It would have been optimal to have some 'real' stone there though).

Hey there, Well there are exceedingly vibrant areas all over the place, Old 4th Ward, Five Points, Virginia Highland, Edgewood, of course, Buckhead which is like another city. Massive development around Mercedes Benz stadium, The Gulch, Etc.

I think the economic impact will be every bit as large as the 1996 Olympics.

I know we don't need to get into Politics here, and shouldn't, but the bloated Orange Man is putting the whole US World Cup component at risk. Many of you might not follow the news much, but I've read "pull the US out of the World Cup" more than a few times already. LA Olympics, too.

Yeah, Ive got to say the World Cup and Olympics aren't at risk. These are organizations that have hosted games in countries which unironically use slave labor to build facilities used in the games. Both are highly corrupt organizations that are motivated purely by money.

Don't think most locals realize how tall this will be.

Agree, The article says that it will look taller or equal to the IBM Tower when viewed from certain vantage points. Still cannot believe they have not raised the crane yet???

Yeah, I initially thought that some of the renderings exaggerated the size (and some probably did), but now that I can see where the residential section starts in relation to Skyhouse, the rendering on the tower's website appears to be accurate, which means this tower is really going to stand out.

According to topo maps I've seen, the lower (north) side of the 1072 lot is about 35 feet above that for the IBM building.

She is going to be a monster tower. I'm praying someone develops the other side of that lot and hides the backside of that deck. It is going to be a massive wall for a while otherwise.
