No matter how many times people repeat the above, it doesn't change the fact that Mr Carney is the Prime Minister. It will be better when Parliament is in session and he has a seat, yes, but the PM still gets to do PM things in the interim. Visiting other countries on a tight schedule to work on expanding trade and defence agreements is not what anyone would rationally consider "galavanting".

Decades of government neglect on a national historic site… what a surprise.

At the same time I call 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 on it costing $42 million to fix.
Not sure for what purpose he'd recall Parliament. He is about to call the election, although not being an elected MP does not prevent him from doing his job.

I agree re the $42million. Whether they repair or replace, the total cost will be much higher than that.

Mark Carney has flip flopped so many policies in the last week he's been prime minister.

If he doesn't want to lose the electorate, he needs to tighten up.

He can sell whatever he wants to Canadians, such as taking the "concepts of a plan" PP has, but if he keeps flip flopping, he'll continue to lose credibility.

We have only scratched the surface of what the PM will do and the very few tests he's had, they haven't really gone well. Journalists will not treat him nicely once the campaign starts.

He can do all the PR he wants, but this election will be a closely watched election.

If I didn't know any better, I would swear that PP is deliberately trying to lose the election. Smith has established herself as a Quisling, and is extremely unpopular everywhere in Canada, including Alberta.

There is also an ongoing RCMP investigations, dealing with UCP corruption.
What an absolute hand grenade smith threw Pierre. Like he needs more votes in Alberta. Now he has to defend unconstitutional demands that he agrees with to people in Ontario and Quebec.

Who did she think she was helping with that list?

Not sure what policy flip flops you mean. So far, he has shown himself to be not at all intimidated by the journos. All signs are positive, istm, but we now have to see what kind of a campaigner he is.

Flip flop? Do you think Mark Carney and Justin Trudeau are the same person? That’s the only possible “logic” in your argument, that somehow Mark Carney charting his own path with Liberal policy is somehow changing the mind he shares with JT.

It’s like Trump; when you’re lost so deep in the conservative sauce, surrounded by your echo chamber, you can’t see the extremism of your views.

Buying it?

Blue Liberals win all the time. It's like they want a few of the good ideas without the CPC crazy. Seems pretty normal to me.

People from the far left post here? Or Carney is far left?

Both sound ridiculous. No one from the far left is wasting their time posting in these forums. They would hate all of this centrist 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵.

Who? Where are these people? What threads are they in?

Very, very few people here are "far left". I know people that are "far left", and they are not at all well represented in this forum. I'd say about half of the regular posters in here are centrists (so-called "liberals", if you will). Perhaps 30% lean to the right. 10% are alt-right. Maybe 5% (probably less) are "far leftists". The other five percent are apolitical.

As for myself, I've been a social liberal, fiscal conservative, most of my entire life. I mostly vote liberal at the federal level, but I have voted conservative. Once, I voted NDP.

Carney, premiers seeking plan for national energy, trade corridor

https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/business/pol...plan-for-national-energy-trade-corridor/

Love this!

Love it too that all the Liberal supporters are finally supporting this too! Times sure have changed! Hasn’t anyone thought about climate change though!!!

And the $200 million announced today to further expand development of Canada’s nat gas industry and LNG exports. Awesome work.

Lol. Thanks Lib supporters for getting this man elected and furthering the Country’s best interest to develop oil and gas to reach the global market!

Take this from a leftist: My strong suspicion is that the overwhelming majority of pro-Liberal comments here are from relative moderates; most likely socially liberal and fiscally conservative, for that's how it usually goes. Why is that my suspicion? Because otherwise there would be much more (or any, really) talk of the NDP or Greens, which, as everyone knows, are parties leftward of the Liberals.
By the same token, I haven't read many baldly Dump-like loony-right comments from the conservatives here. There's just a lot of two-way partisanship.

Carney seriously has peaked my interest in voting Lib, after these two announcements today 1) investing $200 million in Canada LNG, and 2) building a trans national energy corridor. Both of which supports the development of AB’s primary industry, O & G. (2 other platform points Poilievre is running on too……)

To think that all Lib supporters, pro-Carney supporters here are also in agreement with his decisions, well this is great.

It wasn’t long ago we used to have our differences here, but now that the Libs are completely changing their tune and you support that. This is great. Let’s continue to build out Canadas oil sands and nat gas, Canada will be better for it, under Carney’s leadership.

Either Cons or Libs, it sounds like AB’s Canada’s O&G is finally going to be produced and distributed to its potential.
