Some snow yesterday but enough snowless ground that the snow is not staying. However this weekend is dropping to just below normal so we should see some new snow.

Ladybugs or Asian lady beetles? I can't remember the last time I saw a Ladybug.

No idea. They're all coccinelles to me. I am no entomologist.

Poetic French alternate name for them: bête à bon Dieu.

It's been light rain and around 4°C to 6°C today in Vancouver, and similar but a bit milder in the upcoming forecast.

12C and a mix of sun and clouds. Finally the first real spring like day. Looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel from this winter from hell.

Drove by the Lasalle snow depot. Maybe it was me but it was kind of underwhelming.

Low of -4C (wind chill of -8) this morning.

The warmspot was Windsor, ON at 15.6C.

Warmest low was Saturna Island, BC at 6.3C.

Yeah, it was definitely cold today. This March seems pretty miserable.

Have people skied that hill before as a stunt?

Sunny and 1 degree at 10:30. Highs near 6 this afternoon.

Sheila's Brush might be coming early, with anywhere between 5-15 cm of snow tomorrow as a frontal system passes through. Won't be "stormy" or anything, but a decent snowfall which will likely be out last major snowfall of the year.

Another big dump for the mountains coming in the next couple days, the rivers may not run dry this summer! I'm going to keep my snowboard right beside the door for the rest of the month, no need to put it away!!

SignalHillHiker, good to see and some people "are up in arms" over privacy issues.
You walk out your front door and immediately you're being recorded by hundreds of dash cams, doorbell cams, traffic cams, public cell phone cameras, Google earth street view cams and weather cams, get over it, it's a good thing.

^ There is a good reason for neighbourhood surveillance.

Rain and more rain, and then, more rain.

-2C with a wind chill of -4 and sunny. I really hope it is the last high below freezing until December. Winter has been way too long.

Low of -7C (wind chill of -13) this morning.

The warmspot were Masinasin, AB and Aschroft, BC at 12.7C.

Warmest low was Saturna Island, BC at 6.9C.

How does it compare to historical norms though?

Strange "storm". Or facilities in that band are closed for the morning. It should be over St. John's soon and will last all day. I don't believe we'll close. It's only 5cm.

A chilly -8C and sunny in Moncton at 10 AM, only getting up to +1C this afternoon.

The weekend warm up is still on tap however, with only positive daytime highs for the whole seven day forecast period. We may see temperatures into the teens this weekend.

The ground in Moncton is mostly bare (except for the snowbanks), and, after this week, only the largest of snowbanks should still remain.

A somewhat strange winter which I would describe as short and sharp. True winter weather only really lasted about 10 weeks, but, the weather was quite cold during this period. We had a couple of severe storms, but, no real dumpings of snow, with most storms bringing mixed precipitation. The maximal snow depth on the ground probably never exceeded 30 cm. Certainly a far cry from the legendary winters of my youth in the 1960s and 70s.
