To be fair the vast flow of money being moved out of China to be laundered in Canada started under Harper and the Cons and they did nothing about it. The Trudeau Libs just continued looking the other way.

I don’t think anyone would have predicted those results on this forum even two months ago in poll between the Liberals and Conservatives. How quickly things can change in politics.

The NDP is getting obliterated in those latest polls. Seems like Carney (who Harper apparently wanted to tap as Finance Minister) is much less tied to Trudeau than Singh is. (Fair enough, IMO; Singh is basically JT at this point, everything bad JT did since 2021 only happened because Singh wanted it.)

I grew up an NDP supporter, but it’s been hard to support them since Jack Layton passed.

This election could be like 2000 bad for the NDP in terms of seat count, but there’s still a good chance the election results in a minority situation. The last thing the NDP want is a conservative majority, or a Liberal majority, which is crazy to think is even possible now.

I think voters are increasingly seeing this election as both a contest to deal with Trump, and a plebiscite on Poilievre. The Conservatives couldn’t have picked a more unlikeable than PP. Most centre left Canadians can’t stand him, and many more centrist, older people don’t like his demeanour, and especially hate Donald Trump.

The latest Liberal campaign ad has been their most effective yet in painting PP as the Trump of the North.

The interesting thing about a result like this is it probably is a Liberal win and likely decisively. Any kind of Liberal win is going to shake a lot of confidence in Canadian democracy given how inevitable a Conservative win seemed but imagine the Liberals getting 3% less than the Conservatives and still staying in power.

The polymarket ended up being leading and most accurate indicator.

Sure, but if you're going to put this forward, for transparency you should have noted that when Polymarket began tracking Carney on January 12, Poilievre was at 86% and Carney was at 12%.
