This is very prescient. For all the ideologically convenient talk about the "freedom convoy" being an open-air white supremacist convention, there were many many young Indo Canadian, Arab Canadian and Indigenous Canadian men in the crowd.

If you were in downtown Ottawa around that time (as I happened to be, fortuitously, on the convoy's peak day) it was quite apparent.,

And there may be signs that he’s parting ways with JT with that comment about white working class young men.

JT broke it. The country is worse off in pretty much every metric since liberals took over.

Change is needed.
Before you were suspended, I remember how you were a big Trump fan. As such, wouldn't you be thrilled at the notion of a "Broken Canada"?

What do you think about Trump's plan to bring about the annexation of Canada through economic warfare?

One month ago, 338 Canada projected the Conservatives would get 238 seats, the Bloc 42 and the Liberals 41. As of today, they have the Conservatives on a sustained downward trend at 192 and the Liberals moving up, currently at 101. So, yes, the Conservatives are still forecast to win, but they've lost a lot of ground.

I always thought the claims for the left wing lying CBC were baseless conspiracy theories until I walked through the convoy and then watched the CBC report on it that evening.

I think you're right, but the perception that this is a white person problem as part of some fever dream replacement theory conspiracy certainly exists and it was odd to see Carney using language to feed into that. I don't think this was a good way for Carney to phrase it (he seemed uncomfortable and looked to have immediately regretted his choice of words), but it was an interesting and somewhat refreshing recognition of a problem that the LPC for the most part has refused to acknowledge.

Liberals are in full election mode already launching anti Pierre/conservative propaganda and they don’t even have a leader. I think the carney trump bump may have plateaued.

Not certain left leaning is the correct term. Harper wanted him to be a conservative finance minister.

It was a poor choice of word but the intention was correct. Saying the Liberals are committed to creating opportunities for all Canadians regardless of race, sex etc. That includes white males.

Well clearly the Liberals in their current form are not, as the last 10 years have shown. Whether the Liberal under Mark Carney would be any different is the question. There are some promising signs, but it seems like all the potential candidates are basically saying the same things these days. Ultimately it'll come down to who Canadians see as the most credible option for change.

I'm as anti-DEI as the next person but the idea white males have been excluded from opportunity by the Liberals over the past 10 years seems like a stretch. Outside of a government contracts or civil service jobs the Federal government doesn't have much say over the economy. The corporate exclusionary polices ironically called inclusion are more bleeding over the border from the US and should subside regardless of government as the US course corrects. (Ideally we avoid the over-correction they are likely to have)

You’re not following the conversation. Carney was the one that singled out young white men.

My opinion is generally that young people from all backgrounds have been deprived of economic opportunities. You’re not very consistent on this issue. Sometimes you recognize the impact of injecting 3 million TFWs/fake students into the labour market, but then a few days later you argue that the Feds have little influence.

I guess my poorly elaborated point was singling out white men to also get opportunity is a nice break from DEI language but DEI isn't causing no economic opportunity. I think the fake student TFW surge was horrible for rental availability and low skilled labour but probably helped prevent a wage inflation spiral from starting in the service industry. This government deserves to go for it's virtue signaling nonsense, economic suicide strangling our resource sector, over spending that wasn't strategic. But the idea that it's social policy (the well thought out part like daycare for example) that was balanced with modest tax increases destroyed our economy and thus reversing it will rescue out economy is dubious.

We will have to see if Carney can promise to get back to balance (the rest of his caucus is another matter) but we know a Poilievre government is likely to move in the other direction and not just in harsh cuts to the disadvantaged but also cutting for ideological reasons programs that more than pay for themselves.
