How is that uplifting? It is bigotry and a war song from the dark Middle Ages. Nothing to do with contemporary liberal Christian teaching indeed. Thank goodness, it's in a language that no one can read any longer.
I'm surprised you'd buy that kind of things when you've apparently never been into religion, whether enlightened or bigoted.
For example, the radical Muslims can sing some pretty good war songs too, like this I find catchy.

But it's still a silly war song, isn't it? It may cause some serious damage to the frustrated, easily influenced weak minds that would interpret it in the literal way.
So, I'd like to ask you, why should we give any credit to Christian bigotry or violence when we blame on radical Muslims, ultra Orthodox Jews or Hindu extremists for it? That would be hypocrisy, not a fair Christian behavior.
Besides, as you know it, a lot of those European medieval lords would have never returned from their crusades. Not because they died from fighting. They only would settle down over there in the Middle East, seduced by sexy Arab women and their lifestyle that would somehow have been more advanced than Europe back then.
They also would've committed a number of massacres in Europe itself, on their way to the so called Holy Land. The European Jewish community was harshly targeted, just as usual prior to the Holocaust.
Anyway, you need to stick to the topic of this thread, Bris.
You'd be more helpful to the community of the forum by posting updates to the Paris thread, for instance.
Or post some news about your hometown Toulouse. That would be nice of you dude.
