The slumlord AIDS Healthcare Foundation owned the building and failed to tackle the squatting situation inside. It's entirely their fault.

Anyway, assuming it will be torn down, this can be a potential site for a new skyscraper.

Exactly. The Morrison Hotel wasn’t about to make the area lively.

I wasn't in the LA development thread when that was proposed. What was the story?

In any case, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation bought the Morrison Hotel and intended to be the slumlord to homeless people there. But they let it just rot, officially empty but filled with illegal squatters. AHCF did nothing to remove the squatters, who eventually burned down the building.

There needs to a be a way that someone can sue the aids healthcare foundation for purposely and continuously being one of the key players for derailing the city of Los Angeles as a whole. Between lawsuits, Ballot measures and using their funds to literally do anything OTHER than what their name suggests, the courts need to intervene in their nonsense. I know its mostly the main guy but something needs to be done.

The loss of the Morrison 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵, especially since there were I believe 2 proposals since 2018 for it.

I say it often but these types of infill developments would be a game changer if they were to replace every surface lot in the Historic Core.

Once those two are done it will be three great additions to the Exposition Park Museum campus (including the new wing of the Natural History Museum, which opened earlier this month).

Great shoot! I love how from that angle all of the Onni towers are in close proximity to each other. For better or worse, you can see the similarities in facade choices.

Gorgeous shot Craigs and a9l8e7n... and look at Onni Village... ahem, I mean South Park. By this time of year, we usually have a snow-capped backdrop as part of our skyline. That Science Center expansion is almost equivalent to a 14 story building that the space shuttle is housed in

Say what you want about Onni's facades, but they have been prolific in building downtown housing. Onni gets the job done!

Unpopular opinion, but I actually do like Onni’s facade. It’s very pixelated compared to the adjacent towers.
