Makes so much sense with the Burgess Shale in BC, and the rich prehistoric sea life fossils we have scattered across the province.
Glad it's not just me. It's a little ridiculous that despite the province's rich natural history, the entire Lower Mainland has to either share the small gallery in UBC (and the one tyrannosaur in Science World) or hop a ferry to the island in order to learn about it.

For a culture that claims to love nature and the environment BC has a bizarre lack of natural history museums / learning centres.

Would love to see more of those built / added over the art museum expansion.

Be careful, with rhetoric like that you're going to end up butting heads with the boomer NIMBY hippies who think we live in a little treetop village and will hit you with the Joni Mitchell line: "What, are you going to take all the trees and put them in a tree museum? And charge people a dollar and a half just to see them??"

Meanwhile they of course never ever go camping and would rather jetset off to Cabo or Nice or Yuma where they're not going to find a lot of Vancouver trees.
