I think they just block out that time in case something happens but assume they'll take it down by Friday.

It seems having a bakery in downtown Vancouver doesn't guarantee people walking in the door.
Recently, Bisou Bakehouse quietly closed up shop in the Telus Garden building at the intersection of West Georgia and Richards streets.
The bakery, which has two other locations (one in the West End and the original in North Vancouver), cites having issues with would-be customers finding them.
"Unfortunately we had to close that location due to slow traffic," reads a comment from the bakery on one of its Instagram posts...
...The downtown shop at 510 W Georgia St., which is located at street level but in a recessed area set back from the sidewalk, is now vacant.
Bisou opened up the Telus Garden location at the end of 2023. Before that, it was Glowbal's Nosh, a grab-and-go spot sibling to the nearby restaurant.

It's fine if it's an amenity for the building and leased on those terms (ie close to free)
Telus just dumped the 6/7th office floors at Telus Garden as well. Term is until 2035.. good luck getting it leased out.

The location within the building isn't ideal, but Bisou was more expensive than Nosh, and had a more limited menu. It faced more competition too, with the relatively new Giovane a block away, and now The Post as well.
If it were a recognized name, then they'd probably be able to draw customers from the sidewalk.
To most people "Bisou" means nothing.
It could be a hairdresser for all they know.

Bench Accounting, North America’s largest bookkeeping service for small businesses, has abruptly closed...
...The fintech company had scaled to over 650 employees as of 2021 and achieved a total funding of over $100 million by the same year, according to a previous news release. Investors in Bench included Sage, Altos Ventures, iNovia Capital, Shopify, and BMO T&I.
Customers were left in shock and anger over Bench’s abrupt closure.
Is that's what up with the Paul outlet at 753 Seymour? Seems like an oddly sterile location compared to the Robson one. More like a company cafeteria.
I assume it's just leased out at market rates hoping someone is dumb enough to lease it.
Whoever wrote this on the Bench homepage needs a pay raise.

Bench weren't located in the office tower; they leased space in the office floors of the podium of the condo tower. I don't think Telus was involved in that part of the development.
