Height of tower?

This YouTube video says that the height will be 1581 not 1575.
Not that 6 feet matters but wonder where they are getting information from.

I hope this gets going shortly, in early 2025.

Trophy office towers along Park Ave. have no availabilities. The rare available space goes for like $300/sf. Landlords are even paying tenants to leave so they can lease bigger spaces at higher rents. I can't imagine they won't have an anchor tenant in 2025.

I had updated the Wikipedia page with 1580' based on WSP Engineering's figure, but subsequently someone kept changing it to 1581' without a source for some reason -- which I would guess is where that video got it from:

Don't know where they got that info, but we initially saw the higher figure here...

175 Park Avenue
Creative structural solutions allow a supertall structure to rise above below-grade transit lines on a tightly constrained site in Manhattan.

Floors 83

Height 1,580 feet

They've worked on the tower, so would likely know more about it. But at this stage, I wouldn't bank on anything exact until building permits are filed.

I am DYING for news about this tower. Blackstone or Morgan Stanley are the two best candidates to anchor this icon in my opinion.

We cannot get this extraordinary icon fast enough.

It could happen if we get lucky but I'm not holding my breath. Same for all other NY supertalls.

There’s a huge demand for space. My only concern about this is that it will take a long time just to raze the hotel. I’d like to see the hotel come down soon so that the site is ready to go once a tenant comes along.

I'd be very surprised if they didn't get an anchor tenant in 2025.

The market for trophy office space in Midtown has likely never been tighter. There's no newer space available.

Demo and construction will begin at the same time.

RXR is really expecting to get things moving on this tower sometime next year (2025), which is really a matter of months if things go according to plan. Major transit improvements to Grand Central come along with this tower.

The great Stephen Schwarzman has underwritten, among other things, a new auditorium at The Frick. Hopefully, his amazing company, Blackstone, will anchor a new icon for NYC.

Both are great, but I like the current refined version more. The details of the crown itself will be more visible from a distance.

I've mentioned it before but the straight line "piping" really accentuates the vertically and makes it absolutely soar. The offset piping really takes away from that dynamic IMO, even if the sparser look provides for a simpler more clarified crown.

I also think the "deco-modern-gothic" consistency of the curved and peaked vertical piping is totally contradicted by the current straight diagonal offset transitions at each of the stepped back tower segments. The previous tighter and completely vertical version was so much more graceful because it allowed the eye to follow that line all the way from the base to the gothic cathedral-like crown.
