Why isn't it "developable" now? Would your company lose money by putting up some office or residential building, or would it just not make enough of a profit to make it worth the effort?

I'm not actually trying to be a douche here, but many people have lamented the number of surface parking lots in the downtown and the people who hold on to them for years without building on them. What would it take for you to develop that lot?

Princess Auto also owns the rest of the junkyard company where the new store is going just outside of St. Ann's MB by Lilac resort. I wonder what they will do with that property or just sell it.

I’ve seen images. It’s a nice parking lot filler. I hope they call it The Charlie.

I wonder if it got HAF in the second round.

next year will be a good one for downtown construction.
Two towers at Portage place. Two towers at Windsor. Two towers at Market Lands. The Bay. DSM. East Block Lofts. The other Market Lands building. All the Railside projects. Will be a beehive.

208 colony and 129 bannatyne should be wrapping up.

There's one more that I know of. Hopefully others will squeeze in before the federal election as well.

Wherever it ends up, hopefully it's a parking lot filler and not a teardown and rebuild.

Edit...looks like I was correct. Based on this description, Mitzi's site is not included.

Does anyone know who the architect or developer is for this project?

Also, is this the project that you were referring to Biff?

I saw some designs for a 6 story building on the north side of Portage between Lipton and Bannerman. The whole block. I don't know what stage of development it is in. 80 units, or so. I don't know, but it looks like a Paragon special.

Say what you will about paragon, they sure can put up a building on time and on budget.

Yes. Ironic timing that the Appeal came out on the city site right after I found out.

That block is ripe for redevelopment. It's any eyesore currently, so anything would be an improvement.

I also noticed that the lot at 2093 Portage (at Belvidere) is back on the market. The listing claims permission from the airport to build is included. As I recall, a developer tried to build here before, demolished the existing building and dug a huge hole, but was shut down because of the airport. Asking price for the land seems steep, but it would be a good spot for a smaller residential building.

Looks suspiciously like a Carrington design.
