Great Lakes Snowstorm is probably the most followed and interesting North American climatic phenomenon of Italian enthusiast forecasters.

In Italy a similar phenomenon, but obviously much more limited and rare, is the "adriatic snow effect" that occurs when very cold Russian-Balkan air reaches the Adriatic Sea. On these occasions it can happen that (thanks to the reliefs of the Apennines located west of the Adriatic coast) large quantities of snow can fall right on the coasts of those areas. On the contrary, in these situations we Sicilian loser enthusiastic forecasters experience another phenomenon but of a psychological nature, the "envy snow effect"

Yeah, postimages is great for what it is. Just fire and forget. For photo storage I have multiple gmail accounts and store my photos in organized folders.

We were supposed to go up this weekend to help my inlaws settle in their house but saw the forecast and we noped out. My cousin was supposed to go up to Owen Sound to visit his inlaws and same thing. Down here it's nothing like up there but it's still shitty. -1 itself is not really cold, but throw in the wind and it was just unpleasant to be outside.

Using a different site to upload since the preferred one is still down. Here's a photo from yesterday up north.

It was much worse in Muskoka. They had to shut down Hwy. 11.

where can i find the url on my phone

Nevermind. Raining again. Just in time for the previously rescheduled Christmas parade lol

Edit: It's so loud. Might be a touch of ice in it?

Yep. Some areas are well over 100 cm now. That's +3 ft.

No snow to speak of here. Brisk wind coming off the lake.

Love walking on these limestone (I think) shelves.

Some 50 cm snow is expected to have fallen in the Northwest border between AB and BC in the Alberta Plateau.

We got a couple cms in Edmonton.

I use Flickr, but I am a cheap bastard who uses the free service with the 1000 image upload limit. I reserve most of the space for photos of local Moncton development pictures, which end up on the Atlantic Canada section, which is why you don't see too many pictures from me on this thread.

I occasionally delete older photos to free up space for newer pictures.

The sun came out for the Christmas parade. Shared way too many pics in the "Post some pics of your city" thread if you're curious to see how adorably provincial ours is A few faves:

Very wintry. Yesterday, high of -3 and low of -4.8, today a high of -0.8. it was sunny today, but the wind was unpleasant.

Not enjoying this at all, as we've gotten off easy the past two winters. Only eight days with a high below 0 last winter and six the year before. Now we have two already and three more in the forecast. This cold spell seems like it will stick around

Thanks for all the info on photo sharing sites everyone!

Looks like YVR fell today, so officially Dec 1st, -0.4. Though, once again the weather stations in the city proposer haven’t frozen yet.

The way that I always unofficially recognized the first true freeze city wide in Metro-Vancouver was when all the leaves on the banana trees at English Bay fully die back.

Yeah, the past two winters were very mild, with only a few days where the highs were below freezing, this winter already feels colder, and it’s only just started. I heard that December will be colder than normal, but January and February should be closer to normal or above, which would be perfect, I want snow in December, not the end of winter.

Environment Canada is calling for up to 60 centimetres of snow in parts of Southwestern Ontario, including London, as northwesterly winds bring intense bands of snow off Lake Huron.

Still no snow on the ground in Ottawa. It's a bit strange.

Probably another 5-10cm over the weekend. Feels like we have the same amount of snow that we had all of last year.

Temps were down to -21 but will be up to 0 tonight and +6 tomorrow.

Chilly, dry and sunny in Vancouver.
We've been having some rogue fog banks over Burrard Inlet the last couple days.
Here are a couple of live cam shots from this morning (looking south from the North Shore).
