Percy needs to pay up for better renders for his project, they all have buildings in the wrong place or street infrastructure inaccuracies. This one has a whole new residential building in the middle of King's Square

I really like the large long windows. It should look pretty cool in person on street view.

It's in no way awful but I don't think it's an architectural homerun either. To each their own but I find it kind of uninspired.

I get they are trying to blend with the other buildings around them but I'm not sure we need to do that every time a new building goes up. A city streetscape should evolve and change over time.

In any event, not objectionable and a big improvement over the old Woolworth's (and a huge improvement over the hole! )

That front entrance arch or whatever you'd call it reminds me of the gaudy style embraced by the many nouveau riche decorating their homes in China.

Any updated pictures out there? They must be done the foundation work now. Sure wish the City would move the Kings's Square webcam a bit so we could see progress! Probably should update the title to under construction from site prep.

More likely they will be digging up some of the newly laid asphalt to do some underground work that should have been done before they finished the streetwork.

Still pumping concrete - and they opened up the fencing and took down a tree... perhaps a good location for a large crane.

Talking to someone well connected to things uptown today......they were saying the city is getting pretty fed up with this project closing part or all of King St without any prior notice or communication with City Hall or the police.

I have been told that pouring concrete in the winter adds considerable costs. Maybe they are on hold until spring?

It's slow going, and I know it can be easy to show pessimism in the project, but I am certain there is more foundation present now than in those photos from a month ago.

I understand that foundation work is time consuming and doesn't show readily apparent progress the way structures actually going up do.

It does appear to me though that in general, projects in SJ often seem to advance at a slower pace than other cities. (I have no evidence to base this on but it certainly seems to be the case from casual observations)

Agreed, I went by yesterday and there is definitely progress. It is a BIG foundation.
