How do you walk by this and fight the urge to stamp on them with your foot?

We're getting some much needed rain in Halifax. At 10 am it's 8 c. Yesterday's high was 8.5 and the low was 7.4.

I checked-out the 'Climate Dashboard' on CBC's Climate page and was surprised to see that Shearwater (my defaulted location) has seen 10 days this fall season where the temperature has dropped below 0. I didn't think this to be accurate so I accessed the EC hourly historical data and found two days where the temperature dipped below zero at Shearwater RCS weather station and zero days at Shearwater Jetty weather station. So back to CBC's Dashboard and I find lots of detail on the final page, under all the charts and pronouncements, that indicates that data is pulled from multiple stations including Halifax Stanfield. However, I haven't been able to match-up the provided coordinates with any weather station. Without comparing apples to apples the dashboard is near meaningless.

+6C and rain in Moncton at noontime. The rain is not new (it's been literally raining the last two weeks), but the rain is heavy today, and is accompanied by strong gusty winds - overall, a particularly vile day.

More rain tomorrow. If it doesn't end soon, I will start erecting scaffolding in the backyard, and begin research on how to tie a hangman's knot........

Snow Day in Edmonton today, snow started early this morning and is still going. Had maybe 5 cm on the ground yesterday afternoon and this afternoon we are up to over 20, likely 25 cm by tomorrow morning. Not too cold though, hovering between -8 and -11 in the middle of the city.

Someone stabbed in the neck at one of the drug dens.

Second neck stabbing since I moved here.



Paramedic friend advises double stabbing. One in neck, one in thigh.

Two people are in hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in the centre city area of the capital city.

The two were stabbed at a residence just after 7 p.m. last night.

The RNC believe that the incident was an isolated one, and say there is no further concern for public safety at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and nobody has yet been arrested.

Heavy rain much of the night, loud enough to wake me up at several points.

And, before I even opened my eyes this morning, the first thing my emerging consciousness recognized was the wailing fog horn.

I'm definitely reaching my breaking point. I need a shot of sun.

Anyhow, still kicking ass with energy consumption - though it's been so mild that it hasn't been hard. I'm hoping to not have a single month over 2,000 kWh this winter. I think using the full-size oven near daily instead of toaster oven last February is what caused it to be my most expensive month ever... 2,236 kWh at $355.

My current equal payment plan (you sign up to pay the same amount each month instead of pocket change in summer and a mortgage payment in winter, ) is $181, down from $191 at my most recent adjustment in October. I'm hoping at the next adjustment in April I can get it down by even more.



The percentage attributed to heating used to hover in the low 80s.



EDIT: We've hit a new all-time record for rainfall in November.
