+5C and (surprise!) rain in Moncton at 9 AM.

Rain, rain and more rain for the rest of the week and the weekend. We may see some sunshine on Monday.

I am at the end of a two week break from work. I can truthfully state that during this entire period, I have had one day with sunshine.

Yesterday we reached 11.1 and our low of 6.1 was this morning at 6 am. It's a patchy sky now at 10 am with bright sunshine streaming in my windows and a temp of 7.6. Fingers crossed that the rain forecast for tomorrow actually occurs.

Much of New York, New England, and Nova Scotia are experiencing either the driest and warmest fall in recorded history or one of the driest and warmest.

Getting our first taste a crappy winter weather today. A couple flakes mixed in with the drizzle this afternoon. Only 3 degrees and nearly got our first freeze this morning with a low of 0.6.

8C and cloudy early this afternoon. Rain started at around 1:30.

Low of 5C this morning.

The warmspot was North East Margaree, NS at 11.9C.

Warmest low was Herbert Island, BC at 8.0C.

Watching the end of the Thursday Nighter, it is snowing like crazy in Cleveland. Lake effect I believe. The snow was falling all the way down to Indianapolis earlier today and Cincinnati is expecting a few flurries tonight as well. Cincinnati in particular has a borderline sub tropical climate (depending on what definition you go by).
The Great Lakes have a MASSIVE impact on Arctic air masses at this time of the year. Sure glad to be on the right side.

Thursday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 10 C, the low was 8 C.

Love that last building still.

It's also still raining here. The poor birds. They've been emptying my bird feeder daily. Hopefully all these species fly south? I can't afford to keep this going 365 days a year

Temp finally dropped below freezing last evening, briefly falling to -0.6 degrees. Residual warmth from Lake Erie brought the temp back up to 3 and staved off any snow, but there was a nine car pileup on the 401 east of Chatham.

I've probably asked this before, but what town on Southern Ontario are you in?

From what I have seen all the larger / official weather stations in Southern Ontario have dropped below freezing (Hamilton, London, Windsor, Toronto, Sarnia, etc...) before now, some of them a few times now.

Is this your own hobby weather station (if so, I'm jealous) or a local station? (Always nice to discover new micro-climates). I'm guessing that you are definitely near the lakeshore.

i live in the country, southwest of Blenheim. There are two microclimates along Lake Erie, one near Blenheim (Rondeau) and the other near Leamington (Point Pelee). These are low areas against the Lakeshore bounded by a ridge on the north. The ridge meets up with the lakeshore between Cedar Springs and Wheatley and there are high bluffs along the water between them. The two nearest EC weather stations are at the top of the ridge (Cedar Springs and Chatham further inland) and these both freeze before the low lying areas, which get more lake moderation and are home to a lot of specialized agriculture and orchards, mainly peaches and berries in my area.

I have my own weather station, up and running since 2019

The former, "Blenum"

I always thought it was a German word, but it's British and pronounced accordingly

15-20cm of snow expected this weekend. SO I guess I need to get the snowblower ready today.

we now have about 5 cm on the ground from the past few days. But road conditions are pretty good. either that or people figured out driving already. My Commute the last 2 days, I did not see one car in the ditch and only saw 2 accidents. Usually I see 5-10 cars in the ditch and up to 20 accidents.

For the skiers out there. Most Alberta hills are now open. Even Fernie is reporting good conditions. Jasper will have a lot of the upper sections open. Jasper is really hoping for a good ski season to get some tourist trade back.

BC looks good as well. heavy precipitation all this weekend.
