Not to derail this thread with political jargon. But Winnipeg needs what Regina just did. New mayor and 80% new council. Winnipeggers constantly want thigs to change, but vote in the same old schmo's.

Does anybody know how much processing capacity the city sold to West St. Paul in 2014?

Back then the city said they had plenty of processing capacity available to make the sale and we would benefit from increased sewer revenues.

Hopefully some huge investment. Heavy or high tech manufacturing would be amazing.

Cool! It would likely be the first development in the Winnipeg portion of CentrePort if you've heard the Mayor is in on the discussions. Sounds like investing in the servicing extension might be paying off.

Just listening to the Council meeting on the form based zoning changes and, man, I swear the whole world gets a little more dumb with every question Wyatt and Schreyer ask.

If it's CentrePort, it's probably a lithium/battery based project. I know there's a few out there. Maybe it's something new we've never heard of.

I doubt it's rail relocation. They only have $200k to talk about it at this point.

lmao. I had lamented earlier wyatt was asking some good questions. But maybe it's through my transit desired lens.

I feel like they need to ask certain things to get it on the record. I only tuned in for maybe 30 mins prior to lunch.

jfc even if you accept his implied premise that only "luxury" units will be built, it's still stupid. Imagine you're living through a famine, starving. You'd love an abundance of cheap potatoes to arrive as aid, but for whatever reason the UN shows up with strawberries and kiwifruit. Are you going to say, "no, send this back, it's going to drive food prices up and only makes me hungrier"? No, at worst you're going to say, "well at least there are more potatoes to go around while some of my competitors are gorging on those fancy fruits".

So I have heard of a few, large early proposal projects over the last year...could possibly be another Solar Glass Manufacturing plant - the one I have heard of was approx $3b, there is an Air Carbon Manufacturing Plant - approx $1b+, the Lithium Hydroxide Plant - $500m+, and there of course is still the rumour of an Amazon Fulfillment Centre - $200m+.

I hope that solar glass plant isn't just vapourwave, that's be a huge gain for the city. My only reservation about it is that I'm concerned it was never real, but some shell game to get public opinion on board for Sio Silica which rightfully died...for now.

Awesome, thanks Biff. I actually meant lithium/solar as those are the markets I've heard about privately.

Hoping 1 of these projects goes ahead and we get more action than just the small commercial type set-ups along Brookside.

We should see earth moving equipment on the Parker Lands/Fulton Grove site early in the new year preforming earthworks for the upcoming Fulton Gove development.

They will be clearing/stripping and removing 3 stockpile mounds on site and bringing the fill to the Peguis FN site on Hwy 59N and the Perimeter - the site of the former Meadows Golf Course which they are developing.

I would have loved to see a big hill at that sad dogpark, planted with grasses and a lookout spot on top. Great viewpoint of downtown from there.

Also, the grasses along that section of the transit way are very beautiful at this time of year.

Would be cool, but I expect there's some sort of very generous minimum clearance regulation for the area under those hydro towers.
