That's what I'm thinking they'll do. The original ROW, aside from being built over in the villages, is also way too curvy for 300km/h service - they'd have to do much straightening of it that it's basically building a new corridor anyway.
There's a hydro corridor that goes from Ottawa to the Darlington nuclear plant. You could basically build the train underneath it. It's almost a perfectly straight line in the rural bits:
You're not serving Fallowfield with that route, but you could have a station in Kanata. That's probably a more attractive suburban station location anyway.
