The NDP is definitely center-left. I wouldn't call them full on left wing, but they definitely lean farther left than center.

The BC Conservatives I wouldn't call right wing, the "marginally" was more on the right wing part.

I'd say they lean more on the centrist side than right for many reasons. Although, "right wing" in Canada does really have a much more centrist approach generally than in other places.

They're not against progressive taxation, they don't advocate for any drastic cuts to public services, they don't call for outright privatization (although they lean right on allowing more private services alongside public ones), they aren't calling for abortion or contraceptive restrictions, they're not anti-renewables, I haven't seen any hardline anti-immigrant rhetoric at all from them, etc

Again, Anthem is a corporation, not a home building charity like habitat for humanity. Of course they don't want housing affordability. And this isn't come instance where they're against the NDP because they added some red tape law, but I imagine because they deregulated. The only thing they would hate is more competition

They're a party composed of far right conspiracy theorists, quacks, and a good few racists (see their South Surrey candidate for more info) all stacked up in a moderate trench coat. I would say they're even worse in some regards, because they have all the fiscal irresponsibility of a lefty party (see their plans for a $11B deficit) with all is disdain for social programs, science, and basic self-respect of the right.

Proof that the average voter is not very informed:

Video Link

You can see why the BC Liberals HAD no choice to rebrand. I really wish they had picked a party name that wasn't stupid. BC First or BC Coalition would have been better.

That video was painful to watch.

But at the same time, I knew someone who was supporting the BCNDP because of Jagmeet's stance on Israel/Palestine... (I did correct them on that though).

Says the video is unavailable, got another link?
On the topic of party names, I do recall looking at poll which stated a significant amount of people intending to vote for the BC Conservatives were unable to identify John Rustad as the leader. Their name is definitely causing a fair amount of people to link them with the federal party.

To be a little pedantic, unless you live in Nechako Lakes you're technically not voting for or against John Rustad. I've spoken to a couple of people who essentially have the viewpoint that although some CPBC candidates are crazy, the candidate in their riding is reasonable so they're worth voting for.

Are you talking about pediatric hospital visits in general or pediatric critical care?

Here's the 2019/2020 children hospital stats

FWIW Fraser Health does have the highest percentage of children in the province.

They will finish the new BC Children health centre in 2027 in East Van

Surrey Memorial Hospital also has a separate pediatric ER and it's pretty big. Nobody else has that outside of Children's hospital.

Not sure what to tell you, from your hospital stats pediatric hospital visits (which includes all ages up to 16.9) only make up around 15% of hospital visits, and of those visits 91% are not actually admitted to the hospital. Meanwhile somewhere around half of all seniors die in a hospital bed.

It also seems like FHA clearly has the most pedriatric hospital visits, but the percentage isn't any different from the rest of the province. They just have a lot of hospital visits across all ages I guess.

Seems reasonable to me as BC is their tidewater access.

So is anyone here still planning on voting Conservative because they are concerned about deficits?

After watching that video, would it really have mattered either way or otherwise, what they rebranded to?

To be honest I'm not convinced anyone ever was. The rate of deficit growth by the NDP concerns me but not once did I ever think the CPBC would be the solution to that.

From what I can tell, the debt has just been a shield to defend why people are voting for socially regressive party. Saying you are just concerned with fiscal responsibility means you don't have to defend all the weird things that have come out about their candidates and their beliefs.

"Yeah they've said some concerning things, but we can't survive another 4 years of the NDP spending so I have no choice but to vote conservative"

That shield is gone now

Just voted NDP. Honestly not super enthused about either party but the NDP seems better on housing.

Someone on redit tallied up the number that skipped their debates. Around 57% decided to not attend.

I am in Victoria Swan Lake. This is going NDP. With the Conservatives attitude to the media and debates I am shocked the Conservative is second in polling.
